Hey everyone, I was really scared to post this, but I started to think that I wouldn't want to go on PT not telling what has gone on.

About a month ago it all started, which you can read this thread on Bob's Memorial first for the details: http://www.petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?p=1888541#post1888541

But after all my bottom feeders died, I only had a few tropical fish left, and I had to clean and syphon out all the rocks so I could rid of the disease and while I was doing that I put the rest of my tropical fish in my father's tank.

Well I love goldfish soooo much, and ever since Queen I have missed them alot, so since my tropical fish were liking my father's tank alot, I figured I would get my goldfish again. Except this time I wouldn't get any goldfish that get a whole foot and more long like Queen. This time I got the little cute chubby goldfishies. Right now they are babies but they will get bigger.

Anyways, I hope you don't hate me for this and think I am shallow:(

I still have my angelfish in my tank though. He's so big and pretty and my father's tank is a little bit at its limit of fish so I kept him. He looks odd in with goldfish, but he is the happiest angelfish still. Anyway here are some new pics I got.

This is my new favorite goldfish, I love him so much already, I've always wanted a Red Cap Oranda and now I have one:D I don't know what to call him yet though.

I don't know much about goldfish growth, but as long as you won't go through what you did with the other goldfish I don't see why anyone would be mad at you. Congrats on the new fish.

Aww there's no reason to be mad, yes you did rehome Queen but she was too big for your tank, now you can enjoy mini Queens that don't take up allot of space lol. There really cute, I seen some like those at wal - mart but sadly still in the worst tanks ever, no matter what my wal - mart always has dead fish.

Great pics and good luck with them!

Kalei, I don't see why any of us should be mad at you. You've tried your best, and the best has come out of hard situations. And you've also done good to prevent yourself from having a foot long fish again.

BUT ON A SIDE NOTE TO THAT...

AWWW! They're all so awesome and just flat out cute!!

And have you seen Queen lately? I know that last time I talked to you you had.

As soon as I saw his picture, I thought "Jacques!" He looks like he's wearing a little red French beret!

Frere Jacques, Frere Jacques, dormez vous?

Why would anyone be angry with you? Now if you flushed your tropicals down the toilet just to get rid of them or something, it would be a different story. But, obviously to anyone who knows you, you would never do that!

Cute fishies!

My only concern is the angel fish with the goldfish. I am not an expert on angel fish per se, but they are tropical. I know goldfish need much cooler water than tropicals. I have always heard to never mix the two types of fish. Anyone? Is this ok?

Well the angelfish likes a temperature of about 79F so that's what I keep it at, and the goldfish love the temperature being warmer. Goldfish are very docile fish and I noticed that my goldfish are just as happy and swimming around alot when the temperature isn't soo cold. And the angelfish is as happy as ever too.

But if I ever see any changes to their health or happiness then I would definately do something. But as far as I have always had goldfish all my life, they always liked the warmer temperature instead of so cold.

But everyone thanks so much! I am glad your not mad at me, I just figured some people might be because I went back to goldfish. The only difference this time is that my tank is crystal clean and the couple goldfish I got aren't ones that will grow to be a 1'2" whale like Queen did lol. Instead these ones mainly grow big and round and fat lol. Once again I am very happy, thanks so much, and I'll have to go take a picture of my father's tank so you can see where most of the tropicals went:D It's a pretty hexagon tank.

I've actually seen 15" orandas. They sell large ones at the crappy store I once wrote a thread about. They want $80 for one so I didn't get too tempted. He also wouldn't sell the one with deformities due to TB. Fortunately it takes a long long long time for the round goldies to get that big, if ever. Three will enjoy that tank for years.

I also mix tropicals and goldfish ;). Once you've had a lot of experience with fish, there's no problems mixing the two as long as they are species compatible. I'd never mix livebearers with goldfish. I have Depot, my comet, in with my tetra tank. Goldfish being strictly cold water and trops being strictly warm water is just a myth (perpetuated by fish lovers who want newbies to take things slowly).

Why would we be mad.You rehomed Queen because she was to big to have in your tank. You did what was best for Queen.
The new goldies are adorable. What are there names? Are they boys or girls?

Thanks very much IRescue:) Yes in my life time I have only ever seen one really large Oranda, it wasn't as big as Queen or anything, but it was huge, but ever since then I still haven't seen any orandas that were massive.

Thanks Zippy:) No I still don't really have names for them. Of course Little Guy has a name but as for the Red Cap Oranda. I'm trying to think of a really unique name for him, I think I am gonna love that fish soooo much, I am already so attached to it, I just love him and thinks hes adorable!

So far I've thought of:
Bubbles (but that's so normal)
Smartie(because it looks like the red cap on his head means he has a big smart brain lol)
Akemi (means 'bright' or 'beautiful' in japanese)
Or I thought of 'Mother' as in Mother of the other goldfish (but I still can't reallly tell the sex. They are all a little to young to tell, still babies. But so far there are no tubercules on the red caps head or gills so it may be female:)

Great Pictures! Don't worry, nobody is mad at you :) I have one angel fish in with 6 goldfish! She looks a little funny with all the goldfish too but they all get along fine.
Angel fish and Gold fish are some of my favorite fish. I had a little goldfish like the one you just got. Her name was Nemo!!
Very cute pics ;)

Kalei, I am amazed! I had no success with angel fish and finally gave up on those. The ones I had were gray with a black stripe; your is a different variety from the photos.

Those new goldfish will be in your tank quite some time before they outgrow it; if at all. Nice clear photos, too!

I, like everyone else, see no reason to be mad. :)
I know how it feels to love a particular kind of fish so much that tanks just don't seem right without them. For me its cichlids. I know you only have good intentions for your fish, and they receive great care!
The little goldies are so cute. :]
Good luck, and I'd love to see pictures of your dad's tropical tank.

Very cute goldies, although I think it is a bad idea to mix them with an angel fish.

Angel fish can be aggressive by nature (don't say that yours is different) and will most likely start to nip at the flowing tails of your goldies.

My advice is to see if you can re-home the angel and lower the temp for your goldies, so that everyone is happy and healthy.

How big is your tank? You should look into getting a few live plants for them to munch on! :)

Thanks for the advice, I already have live plants in my tank and it is 55 gallons, so its a big tank. As of right now my angelfish does not bother the goldfish and seems to get along with everyone just fine. I know that angelfish can get aggressive, so far mine hasn't, if I notice that it starts to then I will rehome it.

As far as aggressiveness goes, I've owned angefish before many times when I was younger and most aren't as aggressive as some people think, I've never had an aggressive one yet thankfully.

OK, your decision, but its my opinion your fish would be healthier and happier if they weren't mixed.
