View Full Version : I have a beige cat in my bathroom!

When my neighbor came back an hour ago, she called me and said she'd seen a kitty in the yard this morning, a beige burmese. He/she was still around, so we went down to give him/her some food, and talked about what to do. The kitty wasn't exactly starving, but came and sat on my lap. The kitty is earmarked, so I wrote the number down.

Then I went up and called my vet, to hear if someone had been to ask for their missing cat - and yes, the kitty belongs to someone not far away! So I got the phone number to them and have called several times, but no one is answering. I will keep trying.

I went down again and got the kitty, and she/he is now in my bathroom! Fister doesn't have a clue yet, he's sleeping on my bed.

Randi,

A true indication of whether a cat belongs to someone is their weight. My friend has a cat that comes around. She's definitely not wanting for food. Thanks for caring Randi.

The kitty looks a lot like this, but I'm not sure what breed excactly:

It's really a shame that the owner isn't home, but she/he could be out looking. Hmm, the vet said that it's an outdoor cat and he/she has run away before.

Well, since I couldn't get hold of the owner, I searched for telephone numbers and called some of their neighbors, one of them got hold of the owner.

The kitty's name is Charlie, he's been gone since wed. He is beautiful and very sweet. I sat with him in the bathroom, and he rubbed against me and wanted tummyrubs.

The owners have just now been to get him, a very nice couple - and they brought a bottle of wine.

Isn't it nice to have such a good ending! :)

I gave them the address to PT, so who knows, they may join, or at least nominate Charlie.

Awww, just what we like. A happy ending! Please tell his family about petoftheday.com. Maybe they'll join and post some pictures of Charlie.

I bet they were glad to be reunited with him!

Well .... ??

Did poor ole Fister ever catch on, or get a proper introduction?

Sure was NICE of you to play Foster Mom!!

Gee I hope they join! We can always use another kitty. Glad you were able to reunite all of them. Maybe they get the hint and keep the kitty inside.

Actually, my neighbor got a few pictures of him, but she had to leave shortly after, so I haven't seen them yet. I'm sure you wonder why I didn't take a few snaps - I would have, but my battery was out.

The couple told me that Charlie was an indoor/outdoor kitty, I think they have a yard like mine, and it seems he's very popular there - also with the kids. :)

Bless you, Randi, for caring about this kitty and taking him in and tracking his home down. I'm so glad for the happy ending, and I hope maybe they will keep him inside now.

At least if he's out again, maybe he knows now to come by your place, Randi, where he can get nice food and shelter and then brought back home.

Thank you!

Glad to hear all turned out so well, and you got a bottle of wine to boot! :D

Maybe, if he/she was an indoor/outdoor kitty, maybe Fister already knew him/her? ;)

What a lucky kitty to run into you! I'm glad Charlie is back with his owners again though. I wonder what Fister would have made of him. :D

It's funny, I don't think Fister noticed he was there at all, even though Charlie did miaw a few times. Fister went past the bathroom a couple of times, but didn't stop to investigate - I guess he was busy to get to his food in the kitchen. :D

I'm hoping to get the pics of Charlie later today.

What a happy story to read!! :D I almost did not open the thread for fear it was about an abandoned animal. I am glad I read this and now will even have pictures to look at. Did you ever learn what breed Charlie is?

Hi, handsome Charlie! You can visit Randi any time and that way we can get to see snaps of you every now and again. You are beautiful! Are you a Meezer?

Edited to say: I love the look on your face in the photo at the very bottom! You look VERY content!

Yes, it was a joy to meet him. :) Fister's vet, who is also Charlie's vet - and his owners, said he's a Burmese.

He sure is a handsome cat and I'm glad that you were able to reunite him with his family.:) If he were mine, I'd never let him out of my sight and he'd be an indoor only cat.;)
