My dad rarely has any cats that come around as strays. He has 3 cats of his own, all grown ups. (Sarah, 3yr Tortie, Baby 5-6yr Tabby, and Rosie, 8yr Calico) The only exception is he has a male that is IDENTICLE to Baby who shows up now and then, once he even got into the house then ran right into the screen slider trying to run out! lol

Well yesterday a kitten showed up. He said is was a She, was grey and white and sweet at could be. Crying and whining wanting attention. He figure it must live near by.

FFW to today... I stop in real quick. Walk up and here comes a very vocal little baby wanting loving. She (I didnt check for sure) is so sweet. Looks in good shape and runs in the house when the door opens. She must be lost :( Or dropped off... She is grey with stripes on her legs and her belly and pretty solid on her back. Very loving pur box. He has food and water out since his cats prefer not to come in the house very often. So I know she is ok. He lives in the country. I had to leave unfortunately was in a hurry. I asked if he went and asked the neighbors and he hasnt. He figures they will come looking. In the mean time she is outside at his house. He works a lot and is gone a lot. I think his thought is either she stays or someone comes looking for her. If she is around long enough he will get her spayed and consider her his own. Oh, my guess she is probably around 4 months old. If I can make it back out there this weekend I will go ask the neighbors if she is still there. He lives about 45min from me though so I cant just run over there. I hope she stays there and stays safe if no one comes looking.

If she is about 4 months old, she needs spaying NOW!! He should check in his area for a free/low cost spay/neuter program. If she is a stray, she could qualify to have it done free but it needs to get done asap or he will end up with babies before he knows it.

Excellent advice Laura!
Scrappy 2 and Pouncer Roccalno were both pregnant very early and ended up with deformed Babies who had to be PTS.
We are praying that this Stray can be taken in in time as she may be older than she appears.

My dad does have the money for a spay so thats not a problem. Its just a matter of weather its going to end up being his cat at the moment since she just showed up. He really didnt want another cat, but if she stays, then he will keep her. He cant say no. Im sure by time the weekend is over it will give a better idea. Since he typically has the weekends off, he should be home, and hopfully go ask the neighbors and see what happens from there. My father tends to be a little anti-social, and drifty and he kind of goes in circles to get things done and accomplishes half of them. lol So I might have to push him on this. The vet we use though don't do spays until 6 months though. Even if she is a small cat possibly I know she isnt that old.
