Hi everyone, it's been a long time since I posted, so I thought that I'd share some random camping photos. These ones are from Mammoth in the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California. This has turned into a yearly trip for some of my good friends and I. I've been skiing / hiking in Mammoth even before I could walk, my dad carried me in a pack ;) but Mammoth still blows me away with its beauty and vast terrain. Anyhow, on to the pictures :)

These first pictures are from Rainbow Falls:

See the rainbow?

There's actually some pretty fun fishing down by the base of the falls. It's like taking a freezing shower when you get too close, but it was fun to catch and release for a while.

More in the next post. :)

These were taken while on a long hike into the back country. We ended up at Shadow Lake which is one of my favorite mountain lakes ever. There are just a few:

On the way up:

At the mouth of the lake. There were some gorgeous waterfalls as we climbed, but I didn't get pictures that did them justice.

And the lake itself:

It's a crummy picture, but these are the falls that we hiked along for a couple of miles:

Sadly I don't have a whole lot of pictures from Mammoth. Most of the time we were on the move trying to get as much daylight as possible. I do have some from Utah last weekend, but I haven't cropped or edited them at all. I'll resize and post those too.

This might cause picture overload, but here are the ones from Utah in no particular order:

The road into Zion National Park from the east. This is the big window and the road actually runs through a mile long tunnel:

I love desert storms and the cloud patterns caused by them:

Beautiful!!!! Where exactly is Mammoth? Whenever we visit the Sierra Nevada area, it is always Yosemite, and back. I *love* Yosemite, but I would love to see other parks in the area. We're hoping to go to Kings Canyon National Park some day, but I'd love to know more about Mammoth too. I just love exploring such beautiful regions. How far is it from Yosemite?

Your photos turned out beautiful! :) I want to visit Rainbow Falls someday, it looks absolutely breathtaking. The ones you took of Zion and Bryce are great too. Poor little Frankie in her camp cell. ;) Nebo and Keva looked pretty pitiful in theirs too.

Gorgeous! I am totally jealous! If I could visit anywhere in the US, it would be somewhere like that, where I could hike mountains and camp out.
