As some of you know, one of Mom's dear cats had to be PTS on the 21st when cancer was discovered after surgery.

We talked about an hour ago, and she just phoned me back.

She got a beautiful bouquet from the vet's office - an orchid, little roses, more - and a card everyone had signed.

And on the card - they had put Pyka's footprint.

She was bawling, I was bawling...omg.

The vet there had worked with mom and Pyka for two years as the sinus problem got worse and worse.

I'd like to think this bouquet was a little more special than the rest, though that would be selfish...Mom couldn't even tell me all the flowers that were in it cause tears were streaming down her face.

How painfully beautiful - and incredible...

Just wanted to share.

Candace,

What a wonderful group of people at the vet's office. I feel so terribly bad about Pyka and your Mom. Please tell your Mom I'm thinking of her and she will be in my thoughts and prayers.

What a nice gesture from the vet and his helpers. Hope your mom is feeling a bit better.

That is a very nice gesture, and yes I would say it was special. We never sent out flowers to anyone, maybe a card. She must have been one very loved kitty. Please tell your mother she has my sympathy :(

That goes above and beyond the call of duty as a vet. That is just the sweetiest thing I ever heard of a vet doing!

Mom's vet is not mine...so it was nice to hear from Dr Dand that Pyka and Shiney were always welcome as they were such good boys! :)

That's such a nice touch. My vet's office sent a card which I could tell was hand picked by Dr. Doe (my favorite) with a very nice personal note.

How very nice of the vets office to go above and beyond like that. They must have thought very highly of your Mom and her beloved Pyka.

What a very nice gesture.:) I only received a card when I had to put my Pepper to sleep. Pyka sure was loved and he'll be very much missed. I hope that both you and your mom will start feeling better. (((HUGS)))

Wow, that's some vet your mom's got there. My old vet hand wrote a two page letter to me when one of my dogs passed on but that was eons ago. Nowadays, a card is about the extent of it but then, vets are so busy, who can blame them? This is one caring office staff, that's for sure.

That was really sweet of the vet's office. I didn't receive even a card when Ellie passed. My vet has called me several times since, and has told me repeatedly that he will do whatever it takes to get Menu Foods to reimburse me for the vet bills.

Very touching.

My vet's office sends out a card anytime a pet dies. All the doctors and staff sign it. but flowers, wow!
