I am a firm believer that the more a puppy is handled before it goes to it's new home the easier it will be on the new family. So we are trying to make sure these pups have as much socialization as possible. Not just with adults but kids of all ages as well. Plus teh cats, Luca and the ferrets. These pics are showing Dedrick, my 2yr old son, doing his very hard chore of daily socializing with the pups. He loves it. He gets to hold one pup a day himself. Usually after tehy are done eating so they basically fall asleep in his arms. He gets to pet them and kiss them throughout the day when mom or dad or another adult is holding them. But this is his special time of day when he gets to hold one himself (supervised by mom and dad of course).

So today was Mellow Yellow's turn with Dedrick. He is one of the most laid back pups, Light Blue is the same way. Mellow will relax so much in your arms that you have to be careful that he doesn't slide out. In a few of the pics you will see his head starting to fall back as he relaxes. lol

He is amazingly gentle for his age with them. We rarely have to remind him to be gentle. And he loves to kiss them. Here are 2 more pics I took today. One is of Red Collar sleeping in a corner. Yup he stayed like that for about 20 minutes. I just had to get a picture of it. And the other is just a family shot after I took reds picture. Sheena was debating whether to stand up and eat or finish feeding the pup under her leg. She even tried to lean forward enough to grab some out of her dish. lol Of course that didn't work. She did end up finishing feeding the pup though and then went to feeding herself.
