I've been watching this nest for a while now. It's a nest of 3 baby Mockingbirds. Well, they're out trying to fly today and one of them ended up in our yard (the nest is across the street.)

Here they are in the nest on 7-8-2007

"He" decided to hop out of the bush and hopped towards the bush mom was in.

And the whole time, daddy sat up on the streetlight. I'm assuming the baby is a he - he has more white, like his daddy.

Beautiful shots!

We had fledglings (baby birds learning to fly) in the yard last weekend; had to keep ALL the cats inside even when we were sitting outside.

What neat pictures Kay. I love watching wild birds and it's so much fun to watch the little babies.

Great pics, Kay! I love baby birds. This has made me miss my doves that had a permanent nest outside my window for several years. I finally had to get rid of the portable basketball thingy where they had there nest but they have remained in the area but I no longer know where the nest is. I could stand right at my window and watch mom and dad take turns with the babies. Watched them get fed and watched when they learned to fly and leave on their own. Unfortunately I also got to witness the girls killing one of the babies :(. I will never foget mama bird standing beside her baby after it had died. *sigh*...all a part of nature.

Now I have been watching the baby swans at our park lake for quite awhile. I see them every day. It has been so much fun watching them grow. They are so cute and mama and papa swans are beautiful! They have been at our park for quite a few years now and build a huge nest every year in the same spot. This year two swans showed up and we think they are a couple of last years babies stopping by for a visit. One year some one or a group stole the babies. It was so upsetting. Everyone keeps a close eye on them now to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Sorry for carrying on :)

I hope you don't mind but I attached a few pics of my birds
