We attended our first Bichon Bash last Saturday. This was sponsored by Small Paws Rescue, the group Sugar came through. The Bash was held at a state park in Connecticut. Most of the dogs there came through Small Paws. They had a catered hot lunch, did some fund raising through an auction and a bichon table, we had a sing along, and we had lots of fun with the FLUFFS!

Here is the Executive Director, Robin, with the cake we had at dessert. She flew in from Oklahoma to be with us at the Northeast Regional Bash.

These folks sat across from us at the table. The woman on the left works in my city! Her dog came from the RISPCA which is just up the street from me.

More of the wonderful fluffs -- and folks -- at my table.

The smallest dog there was this 5 year old female, at 6 pounds. The largest was a male who is 32 pounds; I didn't catch him on camera. :(

This woman came with her 4 fluffs. It was like a symphony watching her move, and keep them together and untangled. I took LOTS of photos, indoors and out, of her group of dogs. At the end of the first hour, I realized I had NO FILM in my camera!!! I missed a lot of pics.

Someone was giving out treats . . .

. . . and a line quickly formed!

I took this dog's pic several times. Here are the best of them.

I guess he was camera shy. At least he let me see three of his 4 sides, he he he. :D

My new friend, Debbie. She has 9 dogs, only brought one. They are not all bichons, but they are smaller sized dogs.

Bonnie also has several dogs.

We had three honorary bichons for the day. A Japanese Chin, a Miniature Schnauzer, and a Corgi. I took all their photos during that first hour; so you know what happened; no film. Geesh!

Everywhere you looked, there were fluffs!

I knew my battery would never last so I bought a new one; and left it at HOME! So what with an hour of clicking away and the flash going off with NO FILM, and then the battery dying, I didn't get nearly as much as I wanted. But I hope you get the idea!

This is Sparky, owned by Linda Cocca. (She just emailed me so I am editting to add the credit!) Linda says he weighs 26 or 27 pounds!

This is Skittles. He and his folks came down from Maine to join us at the Bash, per Andy Chapman. (Just edited per email info.)

And the best part is, Sugar was great. She is quite terrified of other dogs and when we first arrived she was trembling. But I kept taking her off by ourselves for a break, and eventually she decided she could survive. Alright, she wasn't her happy bouncy self, but it was a HUGE improvement! I guess we can get another dog! ;)

Donna aka Moosmom, came up from her home and we had a nice visit, but she couldn't stay too long. She may have some pics to share as well once she sees this thread! My photos with her were all taken during that first hour (have I mentioned I had no film in the camera for the first hour? I still can't believe it.) And I told everyone about PT, so I am hoping some of them will join and we will get a few more fluffs on here!

I hope you enjoyed!

What a bunch of cuties. Sounds like you and Sugar had a great time.

You will never regret it if you decide to purchase a digital. No need to worry about stinking film! :) And if you get butt shots, they're just a quick erase and you're onto trying to capture better angles. ;)

They are all adorable! My in-laws neighbors have a Bichon. She is such a sweet girl. I told the neighbor I wanted to take her home. :)

Here are some photos other folks took. The group pic of everyone; and a photo of Sugar with Dad and me.

I was able to find the pictures. My camera started messing up AFTER the bash.

OMG Donna, WHEN did you take that pic of another bichon with her (or his) mouth wide open?!!! That is hilarious, he he he. I didn't even know about that. "Whew, what big teeth you have grandmama!"

Great pictures. :D I love Bichons. Sugar is adorable, and you have done wonders with her.
