What a gutsy filly and a heart-pounding duel between her and Curlin down the stretch. The race is here if anyone would like to watch.

She is also the first filly ever to win the Belmont at that length. It used to be a shorter race.

How fitting a filly would win it on the day that the movie, Ruffian, premiered on TV.

I was rooting for her in the last few yards too. :D She ran a great race.

What a race - and for her to have recovered so well after stumbling out of the gate. The jockey said it was fabulous to hear the crowd just screaming at the finish.
