I have trouble walking my dog. Whenever I take him out to walk, if he doesn't want or need to go poop or pee he just stops, and doesn't allow me to take him anywhere. In order to give him exersize, we have to take him in the car (which he eagerly goes to) and drive him to like a park or path to walk him on. There aren't really many dogs around here that he could be afraid of. I've even tried walking him with my neighbours dog, with no results. Is there anyway to get my dog to just walk around the block?

Hi, have you tried to use some kind of treat for your dog? Take something with you that he likes very much and show it to him. If he smells it he will proabably follow you. You can train that at home beforehand. Walk him at home the same way you would do outside. Call him and show him the treat (only a very small one will do!). If he comes he gets it. Repeat it again and again. And then go out and try again. Maybe it helps. If not, write again and I will think of another solution.
In the meantime
all the best!
