You have come to a fork in the road- you do not know which way to go. There are twins by the fork in the road- one lies and one tells the truth- what ONE question to you ask them? (To find out which way to go- also you have to ask both the twins the SAME thing)

OK I know this isn't the "correct" answer, but I would ask them "what color is the sky?" hahaha

(I can't remember from which Terry Pratchett book this came from, and its not the exact quote but basically ...)

It had to do with 2 doors, one leading to life, and one leading to certain death -- same kind of question ;)

I'd find the smaller of the two and overpower him, and then say to him "Look bub, we both know how this goes - so lets not play silly buggers. Which door is the correct door, and also by the way, you're going through it first" :D

I guess it doesn't apply since its paths, and not certain death tho ;)

Ask either twin "Which path would your twin tell me to take". Then go down the other path from the one they indicate.

Reasoning:

If the twin you ask is the truth-telling twin, he will know the other twin lies and will point you in the wrong direction, so will point the wrong way.

If the twin you ask is the one who always lies, he will also point you in the wrong direction (the direction the truth-telling twin would NOT have told you to go in)

I remember seeing something similar to this in a movie recently. Well, not a recent movie (because I never go to the theatre anymore). :p

ha, i had to think about the answer for a bit before I understood why they'd BOTH point you in the wrong direction. Cool riddle!

Except you still wouldn't have the answer as to which road to take. ;)

Me too, and it has been driving me crazy since Whisk_Luva posted it trying to remember what movie I saw it on.

Well, its not a recent movie, but Labyrinth directed by Jim Henson, and producted by George Lucas, with David Bowie and the Muppets and Jennifer Connley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labyrinth_(film)) in it ... then she took the wrong door anyway, and fell into the Oubliette.

i just like saying Oubliette... oubliette oubliette hehe ;)

edit: added the link to Wikipedia for anyone interested :)

You're driving a bus that is leaving on a trip from Pennsylvania and ending in New York. To start off with, there were 32 passengers on the bus. At the next bus stop, 11 people get off and 9 people get on. At the next bus stop, 2 people get off and 2 people get on. At the next bus stop, 12 people get on and 16 people get off. At the next bus stop, 5 people get on and 3 people get off. What color are the bus driver's eyes?
