What do you think of these? I used the supermacro mode of the S2, but I just cannot get them any clearer than this.

WOW! Those are very unusual pictures...something so ordinary and you can capture this detail with your camera. You are very creative, Kirsten. The title are just right also. Fascinating - I had to go back again and again to look :)

Thank you very much! :)

@jenn_librarian: No, I don't have a professional camera, I wish I had. I have a Canon Powershot S2, and it's a good one, but it's no SLR! When I see at fotocommunity.de what others do with these cams, I can't help but finding my work very poor, compared to theirs. But a camera like mine has clearly its limits.

@catnapper: To make these photos, I took the dandelions with me; it was an indoor shooting. I placed them in front of a black background, and under a lamp. That way, I didn't need the camera's flash.

The day before, I tried to take photos like that outside, but I just couldn't get enough sharpness. This was the result of the outdoor shooting, it was not so great:

Did you have your camera on any other special settings or just "P" and SM?

These reminded me of one of my favorite pictures that I have taken..also of a dandelion!
