Any ideas on how I can commemorate a 1st birthday for a boy? I thought of planting a tree or a rose bush. And I thought of purchasing a child's book for the local library with his name on a book plate.

Does anybody have any other ideas?

Please share them if you do. Thanks! :)

Don't know the circumstances but it would seem to suggest that a permanent memorial would be best. An educational donation in his name would be wonderful. I would favour an adoption of an animal - www.monkeyworld.co.uk or the wwf

Did you know the little boy? :( I think donating a set of childrens books
dedicated to his memory would be a nice gift.

I think I might be confused. Please forgive me if I am.

I assumed by the title that this was a child who was celebrating his first birthday, and you want to do something lasting and fun so that you and he can see it every year on his birthday.

However, reading other replies, I think I might have taken it wrong. Is the child deceased? I'm so sorry if that is the case, and for my misinterpretation.

However, in either circumstance, I think planting a tree is a wonderful idea.

Me too, at first I thought it was to celebrate the brithday then it seemed the opposite.

Anyway, I'd also love ideas for a first birthday since Cam will be one next month!
