Got some pics of Ally and also some interaction with the other two kitties in her room. She's doing ok. A little hissy with each other, but that is expected. Other than that, they are all fine together.

This is right next to the windows, and I have some loud neighbors in the alley...

She is Gorgeous! I love that kitty close-eyed smile in the one photo!

Even though she doesn't like to be held, I can see someone just wanting to try it. She looks so SWEET!

Welcome 'home', sweet girl!

Wouldn't you just love to know what goes on in their heads?

There she is, alone in her house in Bahrain. Next thing she knows, she's stuck in a carrier - in a noisy plane. Then she is with Emily/Cheryl for a couple of days. Now transported once more to Pennsylvania - living with Jenn and her crew.

I know I would be bewildered.

Do you wonder if kitties have different languages depending on where they're from - like we do?

LOL it's been bugging me - I had to ask!

AWWWW I am so glad Ally arrived safely (at last)!!!

She really looks like she handled the journey well! Thanks again to everyone for helping to get her there! I really am missing my furkids so muc, it makes things easier to at least see some photos of my sweet Ally-cat!

Things on my side are still very stressful.....

we still have not been paid (still waiting for salary etc since March). we have been told to be out of the appartment by today (30th April) but they have not given us tickets or alternative accomodation, so we are just going to stay there and see what happens!

I'm still trying to get Cameron's school exam enter transferred to either SA or Bahrain so that he can at least finish off the school year!

Also, we have no internet at the flat (company refuses to pay, and we can't pay for it ourselves), so that's why I haven't been able to check in... (Things are just so upsetting all the time - the landlord knows we are leaving, so is refusing to fix anything which is broken, so now we are flushing the toilet with buckets of water

NO job opps for Warren yet - I was hopeful that we would have something by now, so I am really getting worried that we will not find anything. Also our medical insurance runs out today, so as of tomorrow we have no medical cover from the company either!

I just wish we could put all of this behind us and get our lives sorted out. I can't believe that so much can go wrong in such a short space of time!!
Thanks again to everyone on PT for all your help and support! (((HUGS)))

That girl sure looks relaxed!!

Julie, I am so glad that you were able to check in. I am praying for your situation every day. I sort of thought that you;d be going to your old house in Bahrain today. Is that still an option for you?

Ally seems to be adapting quite well.

Grace, maybe you or I would be bewildered, but it sure looks like Ally is taking it all in stride, he he.

Best wishes dear Ally!

Just look at that sweet girl! She is so adorable, and looks like she is settling in quite nicely!

Julie, I am so sorry for all that you are going through right now. Your family is in my prayers every day, hoping that your situation will change for the better soon. I hope that knowing your furbabies are safe and sound will help you with some peace of mind. I am glad that you were able to check in.

Ally looks MAHVELOUS! Jen, you are just too wonderful to help like this.

Julie, I am SO sorry that all this tragedy has happened this spring. I had no idea about the job situation. Prayer (lots of them!) coming your way!

I don't know if kitties "speak" a different language depending upon their country, but Ally doesn't meow very much at all. But Connor just meowed loud enough for everyone (including my neighbors) to hear him. Just in case we don't speak "cat" he wants to make sure we can hear him.

Ally looks like she made herself right at home there Jenn. After a couple of days it will be like she was always there. ;)

She doesn't meow very much at all, but she makes these little "mrech mrech" sounds, it's really cute. My one other cat, Boris does the same thing. It sounds like she's scolding someone, lol.

I tried a few Arabic words on her, but she didn't seem to understand them, so I just shrugged and went back to english.

Ya know, I keep looking at the pics thinking I really really have to clean those bookshelves!! :o I'm annoyed with myself now, lol. I spend so much time vacuuming, i never get around to cleaning the bookshelves top to bottom, and the cats are all over them. Guess that's this weekend's project!

Did Ally break the statue?

Oh gosh no! That came broken right from Egypt. My last ex boyfriend was originally from Egypt and he brought a bunch of things back for my library, and customs was not too nice with them.

I have to say Ally has the smallest, daintiest paws I've ever seen. She is built so thin and feminine. Her coat is very short, very sleek, and the shape of her head is a little different than your typical American domestic. I was studying her last night and comparing the long haired kitty and the tuxie with her features.

A long time ago (shortly after I joined PT) Julie wrote about the breed of cat that Ally is. Unfortunately I don't remember the name (old age you know  ), but it was something specific to the Middle East. Once she gets back on her feet maybe she can tell us again.

I think Ally is a Dilmun. This (http://catoftheday.com/archive/2003/August/14.html) is a link to her Cat of the Day page. :)

Ally is a Dilmun- and what a lovely one. Of course she is a descendant of the Egyptian cat goddess Bastet ;)

Oh, Miss Ally. Such a regal Dilmun cat you are. I didn't know you were a Cat of the Day!

She's beautiful!
Not to deny her breed, she look like my mom's farm cat Daisy. Daisy's long and sleek too and very much the lady...til it comes to bed time and she wanders off to find her favorite cow to sleep on, lol.

Found this online...

Bahraini Dilmun Cat

Bahrain is a small island just off the east coast of Saudi Arabia in the Arabian Gulf.

The local cats of Bahrain have a very distinctive 'look' about them - they are slender, elegant, street smart spotted tabbies. These spotted tabbies have beautiful short hair coats that are extremely sleek, I compare their coats to the feel of a beautiful silk Persian carpet.

The spotted Bahraini cats occur in all different colors from dark brown, bronze, cinnamon, lilac, ginger, silver, etc. and the cats occur in solid colors also. Recently the typical Bahraini cat has been called the 'Dilmun Cat' after the name of ancient Bahrain.

These cats have managed to adapt to the harsh climatic conditions of Bahrain. Due to the extreme summer temperatures in Bahrain the cats have large ears and short fur. In the summer they sleep all day and come out in the evening, and in the cooler months they are more active at day time.

Generally these lovely cats are not much appreciated in their home land. Most of the cats in Bahrain live as street wise cats in areas where there is a sufficient supply of food and enough shelter (fortunately for the cats people throw out a lot of food in Bahrain!). Apart from their good looks, the cats of Bahrain are particularly endearing creatures because of their great personalities. Even people that normally don't like cats end up with a soft spot for the cats of Bahrain.

The cats of Bahrain are very adaptable creatures, and that has been the key to their survival. Unfortunately, nowadays there is so much development going on in Bahrain with shopping malls and high rise offices popping up, that the traditional home areas of the cats are being demolished. The next test of their survival is to see how they will survive in the modern towns and cities of Bahrain.

Welcome to the US, Ally!! :D :D !! And a beautiful kitty girl you are! How could anyone not fall completely in love with you? I'm sure that once you get yourself settled in and rested up after your long trip, you'll like having other kitty play-mates. Sending WELCOME scritchies, huggies, and smoochies just for you.

Hi Ally! How nice to meet you! I'm so glad that you're a PT kitty because we get the very best of everything. During this summer I'm planning a PT Kitty Beach party at Long Beach Island, details will follow so I hope you can come. Well, get rested up after your trip and settle in to your new home. I hope to see more pictures and hear all about you.

I had always thought that MMEEEEEEOOOOW was fairly universal as none of the Found Cats have ever had any problem communicating when they throw thier Big Parties!!
And we pray that your job situation gets a lot better , and that you can find something soon.
It is great to see Ally already breaking the ice.

Ally is doing really well. I got home late tonight because I had a continuing Ed seminar kind of thing going on, and so was at work and then at the seminar and didn't walk through the door till 10:15 tonight!!! I left this morning at 7:45AM.... LONG DAY!!

Went to see Ally and the others in the room first thing when I got in. She came running over to greet me along with Autumn. She let me rub her, and give her scritchies and she loved being brushed. She was smelling my toes, lol, and was rubbing her head on my heel and knee and stuff. She is really interested in everything going on outside. She loves to be in the windows and watching and listening to the city sounds. It's beautiful outside right now, so she's getting some nice breezes.

Will catch up more later. gotta get to bed!

It is wonderful to see Ally settling in.

Julie, I hope things settle down for you soon, and you can find a new sense of normalcy in your life. Living in chaos is no fun, and you and your family are experiencing it on a big level right now. Give Callie a big hug for me. :D
