Tubby & Peanut's Mom

We’ve left the campground we spent the winter at, and are now at a campground about an hour North of Phoenix in a small town called Camp Verde. It’s not far from Sedona, so it’s really pretty with lots of sightseeing and off road trails to explore. We’re at a higher elevation than Phoenix, so the temps are usually about 10 degrees less than what Phoenix gets – low to mid 80’s lately, with high 70’s the last 2 days or so.

We set up CJ’s little outside enclosure, but he didn’t seem to like it as much as at the other campground. There, we were up on the hill away from most of the commotion whereas here we are right in the middle of all the commotion. However, he has learned to like being out on a leash more, and he particularly likes it after dark. He gets really bold then and just starts trotting down the street like he owns the joint. Needless to say, I reign him in and only let him go where I want him to go.

Robin is doing well and really getting settled in. She sleeps most of the day – like CJ – but she likes to come out at night and snuggle while we watch TV. Then in the middle of the night – meaning 2 or 3 in the morning – she decides it’s time to play. She alone sounds like a herd of horses running through the motorhome. Since our floors are all tile, she slips and slides when she’s at full tilt. One night she came tromping into the bedroom, must not have been able to stop or turn quick enough, so she slammed right into the garbage can. What a ruckus! And all at about 3:00 am.

Anyway, on to some pics……Robin telling CJ what she thinks of him sleeping so close to her.

We took a drive through Oak Creek Canyon, North of Sedona. It’s absolutely beautiful! We stopped and took a short walk down a path, and Peanut stopped by for a visit!

Pssst...CJ...maybe if you sleep on the leather instead of the wool blanket..you would be cooler. I know how HOT Arizona can be!

Great progress with your BEAUTIFUL sister....

Robin has such a cute beauty mark. The rainbow, butterfly and phone call were all courtesy of Peanut, I think. :)

Looks like all is going well in your home. I was laughing at the image of CJ trotting down the camp ground. *giggle* I can imagine it well.

Those are such great photos of CJ and Robin nad that certainly is a scenic part of America that rainbow photo is magnificent.
And I know that if you listen you will hear Peanut and Tubby and Tubby 2 purring and being still a part of your life.
I know that they drop by and talk to Tubster once in a while.
Have Fun on the road, and we hope CJ and Robin will be dear friends soon.

I've been to Sedona and did some hiking there. Oh how envious I am.
Filou says he wants to come and stay with you. there's no "too hot" in his vocabulary. And playtime at 2 a.m. would be just his cup of coffee ;)

Nice to see you guys and hear all about your adventures. :)

This thread made me laugh and cry at the same time.

Love your hair Debbie! :)
Terry, nice gonch! :D
Peanut, so nice to see you again. :( How's Tubby doing?
CJ: You look so funny all stretched out like that. Must be hot down there.
Robin: Thank goodness that waste basket was there. I'd hate to think what you would have slammed into. However, you are doing your job of keeping all the night bugs away. Good job girl! :D

Robin looks so happy now! I'm sure glad she found you and Terry.

You're going to love it where you're at. My niece lives in Camp Verde and is quite content there. Sedona is one of my most favorite scenic places in AZ.

Thanks so much everyone. I don't think CJ and Robin will ever be snugglers, but as long as they tolerate each other without a fuss, I'm happy. After all, that's all I've ever had in kitties so I would be totally shocked to come home and find them all snuggled up!

They do seem to tolerate each other, and they've even started doing what I call "The Dance." In the evening when Robin comes out, CJ will sit and watch her from his perch on top of the couch. When she goes in the back, he'll follow, or if he jumps down and goes in the back, she'll follow. It's like they watch each other and follow, but keep a safe distance away. Then one of them will start getting goofy and the other has to keep following so they end up running back and forth, first one following then the other. It's really rather comical to watch. :D Only occasionally does one of them get out of step and they end up face to face, there's usually a moment's hesitation on both parts, then they both break in opposite directions - it's just too funny. :D
