I don't go to PetFinder much...stuff like that makes me cry just seeing all the animals that don't have loveing homes...but I went and looked in my area. I found two dogs that I would love to give a home if I could right here in my province...unfortunately I still live with my parents and they would never let me have a dog...but here they are.:)

LOL so you would take all the Pitties off that site too:p They are all so gorgeous I don't get how they end up without homes. I don't think I will ever be able to adopt from them though because they aren't in Ontario and I dont think I could bring a Pitty across the border:(

yeah, I would! :) They are gorgeous. I want this girl at my local animal shelter where I volunteer. she's sooo sweet. :D I walked her in the parade on Saturday and fell even more in love with her. :) Her name is Rose and she's 10 months old. She's a pit bull mix. I can't belive nobody has came looking for her or adopted her yet. :(

I'm totally speechless at the large number of shelters pictured here. You can see most of what these mixes are, some even come close to purebreds. So much for backyard and irresponsible breeders. Dare I ask how long these dogs are kept before being euthanized or is this a no kill shelter? I hate looking at these pictures, I find it so hard not to be able to bring them all home. My daughter's dream is to turn this place into a home for all the desperate dogs with no time left, I can see why. I don't visit shelters as much as I used to, I find it too hard and depressing to walk away from those pleading eyes. The designer breeds of today will become the rescues of tomorrow, so disgusting and sad.

The dogs i posted from the Petrescue.com.au site are all in foster homes, so they are safe until the right home comes along. The little brindle pup i posted above has approx 3 weeks to find a home before being PTS.

This dog is friggin' gorgeous. Last year I found this huge rescue organization in NJ for retired greys. It's called "Greyhound Friends of NJ". I will definately work with this group when I get older, probably will wind up adopting a dog from there. I know I am getting a greyhound. They do so much fun things like hikes, picnics, adoption days, walks, etc. I can't wait!
