Well Penny is on her way from Denver Colorado to Illinois. She left me an email this morning letting me know she has hit the road with her 6 furbabies, she will be here sometime around 8-9 pm.

Let's all send some PT vibes for her to have a safe and uneventful trip! She will be spending the night here, to help settle her angels in, and heading right back home on Sunday  .

Thank all of you so much for your very kind words, and for helping me to help Penny with such a tough problem, I hope everything else in her life goes as smoothly as the PT wishes do!!

I sure have been praying hard for her and her furkids. Bless you and her and all the little ones. This has been a tough road for her. And you're helping to make it a little easier. Thank you for that. All I can do is sit here frustrated that I can't be of service and wish things were different.

Wishing her and the furbabes a safe trip!

Kym, does your house architectually resemble an Ark? :)

Bless you for doing this!

Candace,
Some days it resembles an Ark and some days it resembles a commercial for Merry Maids LOL.
Actually my house is being remodeled, it is an wonderful old building that 100 years ago had a shop downstairs and living quarters above the storefront, we have remodeled to make it all one living area, so upstairs there are 3 bedrooms an eat in kitchen a living room a parlor and and a bath, down stairs there is 3 bedrooms (which we use the upstairs ones are being turned into office space for Jas and I) a bath a small kitchen (being turned into laundry area) a dining room a living room (which is used for the birds) and a parlor (which is my sewing room), not bad for a 10k with only 30 k needed in upgrades LOL

My cats live downstairs, and I use the upstairs for quarantine for the bird rescue, so Pennys kitties will be up there for the couple of months they are visiting, that way no stress on them having to integrate with new kitties, and they still get us in and out all day long for attention and interaction.

Now to find the merry maids willing to clean up after the contractors :p

I checked my map of the USA and I too was surpised how close the states are as I have always thought of Colorado a bit more to the west.
Those Cat Travellers will have a Pet Angel Official Escort until they reach thier New Furr Ever Home!!!

Gary could you send an escort with Jupiter tomorrow also?? Jen keeps trying to divert the transport so he will wind up at HER house!!!

I have hung Balloons and bribed the neighbors not to let this happen, but Jenn has been very quiet today and I fear she is plotting some St Pats day shenanigans!

Kym, you are a wonderful person for helping CatsinDenver with her dilemma. While reading through this thread I was wondering when Jupiter was on her way to you. (or is Jupiter a boy, sorry) So you will have lots more fuzzy kitties in your house. I am jealous!! ;)

Penny arrived about 8:30 with 6 very put out fuzzies LOL They all had a LOT to say about their trip and none of it was happy :)

To hear them tell it they had been in the car for the last 5 years and never thought they would arrive at any destination! Mom and kitties are settling in for a evening.

Everyone arrived safely, a few of them Hagrid, Cricket and Bob have ventured out of their crates to find hiding spots from to wail and tell their troubles to. Poor babies

Penny was tired but said the guys all settled down to quietness after about an hour on the road. We will take pics tomorrow as none of us were up to picture taking(especially the honored ones LOL)

I am pretty certain that Penny will update as soon as she arrives back home to Denver sometime tomorrow.

I must say what an honor and a thrill to meet her, she is not only an amazing Catmom but an incredibly nice person.

Thanks all, and I am off to bed!

PS Cindy, Jupiter arrives tomorrow :D I will give him an extra hug , if Jen hasn't diverted his transport to her house

I missed the begining of this trip (due to a VERY uncooperative computer. ) but I am glad all arrived safely! And thanks for reminding me that TODAY is the day I snatch Jupiter. **EVIL LAUGH **

Can't wait for the CID (Soon to be called CI-Illinios) photos. :)

Penny is on her way home, no pics top post as her poor babies have found every nook and cranny to hide in................................... I will take a few as soon as we see them.

I cannot thank PT enough for all of your prayers thoughts and amazing responses to make this happen for Penny and her kids. THANK YOU ALL!!!!

Through all of this I was able to give back a very small part of what PT has given me, and I made a wonderful friend, who can be more blessed?

Jupiter will arrive in less than half an hour, my family is complete, a friends family is safe and I am a very blessed woman.

Just my thoughts and gratitude.

Home at last! Although with no cats here, it doesn't feel like home anymore. :(

Kym and Jas are two of the Best People on the Planet! I'll never be able to thank you enough for taking in my displaced kitties. I hope they eventually come out of hiding and show a little gratitude.

I must tumble into bed now. I'll post more tomorrow after I regain consciousness.

Well, that was quite a weekend! I don't usually manage to put 1800 miles on a car in three days. :D

The cats yelled nonstop for the first hour or two after we got on the road. I figured I'd better stick pretty close to the speed limit because I really didn't want to get pulled over. "Cats, officer? What cats?"

After awhile, everyone quieted down. I think they had resigned themselves to the idea that we were all going to be living in a car. Stopping for gas set off the chorus again, as did the smoke smell from a roadside grass fire.

It was with deep relief that I finally arrived at Casa Goodnow, where I was given the warmest of welcomes. They're in the process of transforming a wonderful old building into a haven for humans and critters. And what a happy bunch of critters they have! I got to meet cats, dogs, and birds (but not Jupiter, who hadn't yet arrived).

My guys weren't nearly as happy. They all scrambled for cover and mostly stayed there. They're all pretty shy of people anyway, and I'm sure that a long day in the car didn't improve their moods one bit. I just hope they don't stay grumpy too long--and that they will have forgiven me by the time I show up to fetch them! At least the last leg of the journey, once I've found a house, will only take an hour or so.

I've promised to critter sit for Kym and Jas absolutely any time they need me once I've moved to Illinois. I'm just so grateful that they're willing and able to look after my crew.

And thank you, all you PetTalkers who have offered help, prayers, and warm wishes during this crazy time. Gary, please let the Pet Angels know that they did an outstanding job, as usual. :D

Oh, by the way, the infamous Canadian nip has another convert. I tucked a couple of Gary's catnip mice into a bag along with some other toys. Not long after I arrived, one of the Goodnow kitties found his way into the bag and pulled out the plastic baggie that contained the mice! So I told my guys that they would have to be nice guests and share the good stuff. :D

Hee hee - CatsinDenver - they should be there just long enough to store up all sorts of complaints when you come to fetch them for the journey to their new home. And you, of course, will know not to believe one word, one "but meeoowwwwmmmmmiee!" of it!

What a lovely gift, knowing your 6 have a safe haven for a time - even if they don't quite believe it's safe to come out yet!

Well, I am batting a full 50% I have been able to meet and talk to 3 of the 6 :) Katie, Hagrid and Gatsby have all ventured out long enought to be seen while they eat and use the box, the other 3 wait until they think I am not there yet LOL. So Jas nicked named them the 3 Am Kitties.

Every one is doing great, Gatsby thinks his mom left him with the meanest medicine lady EVER!!! we will take some pics when we can,

I am thrilled that you made it home ok, and glad to hear the angels did their duty as well on the return trip :D

Jupiter has arrived and Dad and he spent the day yesterday bonding.
