I think Nookie is a cute name but I'm not sure if I want to keep it. It sounds a little silly with my other pets' names. What do you guys think?

I think you should keep his name, even if it does sound a little strange. All of our pet's name's are weird!:D ;) :)

Regardless of whether the name is cute or not (I think it is), he should keep it because he knows it and responds to it.

Hehe, he responds to a lot of names though. He's a goof. :)

Well, I could see some complication to your social life with a dog named Nookie. (Unless perhaps I am pronouncing it wrong!)

Let's say you are on a date and you say..."Want to go back to my place and see my Nookie? You can play with my Nookie if you like."

All kinds of embarassing situations I can think of! Someone could get the wrong idea.

I once knew a Yorkie/Westhighland Terrier mix named Snickers.

Looked a lot like Nookie. Same colors. :)

Kimmy - a girl I work with grew up with 2 Yorkies who are still with her parents. One of their names is Snickers too! I even tried calling Nookie Snickers before and he acted like he liked the name :)

If you wanted something close, you could change it to Nicky or Ricky -
Shiloh, Reese, Lolly, Ricky - sounds okay to me!

Aly, just remember you did it all for (the) Nookie! I think he should keep his name!

I say name him whatever you think suits him. Dogs are very adaptable and he will learn his new name fast. It didn't take Tucker but a hot minute when I renamed him. New life...new name.

I am now hoping that Aly will change his name! I don't think I would ever be able to think of Nookie in the same way! LOL!

I'm just glad that I'm not the only one who thought of the embarassing situations, but hey Aly at least he would have hsi own theme song...true it would run along the lines of the embarassing situations but he would have it.

Whatever you decide to do about the name I know he'll be happy either way, after all he'll be with you.

His story is in Dog Rescue. The thread is called Nookie. Be prepared, its messy.. but ends well.

I agree with changing it -- that's what I voted because it just sounds "dirty". LOL!

Rookie or Nicky or something would work fine if you were worried about keeping a similar name for his benefit.

I just can't get over the bad associations with nookie.

LOL! LOL! How about Nokky/i? That would sound similar!? :)

I voted keep it so we could tease ya, Miz Aly! ;)
Ain't I sweet?

In all seriousness, it is a cute name but it does have connotations with it!

When I was little, I had a mouse named Persnickity. I called her Snicky (or Snickity) for short. Snicky seems to be a cross between snickers-and-nicky & has the 'n' and 'e' sound found in his present name.

I voted to keep his name Nookie! The connotations are only bad if you make them bad. After all, it was God ordained between husband and wife so it can't be that bad!! Besides, think of all the fun you can have with it. :D

Yeah I was thinking the name Rookie would be really cute too.
