...a very pregnant mezzer I trappet, or more excatly she let me pick her up, on Friday at work. She was obviously and indoor cat. She is a purring machine :)

The vet think she is around two or three years old.
Her left front leg was limping. We found a punture there and was swollen, so she got an x-ray to be sure her leg wasn't broken. She also had a bad cold.
She is healing from both nicely.Being pampered and cared for, indoors, helps :)

Attached is the scanned x-ray plaque.Could you guess how many babies she is carrying?

And thank you for posting the x-ray picture, I have never seen an x-ray of babies before! How amazingly wonderful is that picture! I'm guessing five babies :)

I also guess at 5.

She looks like a purebred! Just in case - check the lost and found ads, and the shelters too!

If she was dumped...well, the less said about the "owners", the better.

Bless you for taking her in - she is beautiful, and looks so happy...and so full of kittens! :)

I knew you would love to see it.

She looks like a purebred! Just in case - check the lost and found ads, and the shelters too!

We discussed it with the vet and we both agreed that it’s the owner duty to look for the lost pet.
She is not microchiped, is the first thing we did ,to scan her just in case. For one “lost cat” you can find
fifty “kitty free to a good home”. However I’ll ask to the house around.(Maybe, if a have time)

What a beautiful kitty!! I am also guessing 5, because I think that's how many skulls I counted, unless someone's hiding.

I hope NOT!

So Anna has a new blue-eyed baby! I will not even try to guess how many babies....I don't know nothing 'bout birthing no babies..."

We will see, Sara, we will see, it depends on if she adjust well to the gang. We all get along, Magda included, and I want it to stay that way.

Any idea of when the babies are due?

Kim, I don’t now. The vet said the kitten to be wasn’t ready yet, according to their position in moma tummy but that’s
Was Friday. I think her tummy has grown since, it’s enormous! And still eating few crunches now and then.
She is drinking more than eating though.

You scared me at first! I thought your lizard pic was the x-ray! Yikes!

Ha, ha.

I have set a carrier with a blanket and a puppy pad on top of it. Would she love more an open box.
The food, water and litter box nearby.
What else she would need ? Apart from a quiet calm surroundings .Any advice from you more experienced people would be appreciated!

Bytheway her name is Minette. :)

Bless you for taking in this very pretty girl. Now, this is just my opinion, but, with a punture wound that has her limping, a bad cold and being pregnant, if she does belong to someone, they DON'T deserve her back. It is very obvious she is NOT being taken care of.

Could the vet not give you an estimate time as to when she will have her babies? Also, it depends on the size of the carrier, but personally, I think this would be to small for her to have her babies in. A nice big box with some old towels or blanket would be good, so that you could change them for cleaner ones after she is finished giving birth, as it can get pretty messy.

Good luck with this precious girl and please keep us posted on how she is doing. :)

No news yet. Her belly is so big that I think it will burst at anytime.

She is still eating some and spent almost all day long on the same spot, only moves for the basics. Is that normal?
Although she let me pick her up and cuddle she gets tired after awhile and wants to leave.

Also, it depends on the size of the carrier, but personally, I think this would be to small for her to have her babies in. A nice big box with some old towels or blanket would be good, so that you could change them for cleaner ones after she is finished giving birth, as it can get pretty messy.

It's a carrier for small to medium sized dog. I thought that she, being in a strange place with strange people, would like a more sheltered private place.

I hope she delivers soon. That's killing me!

I see 6 and wouldn't be surprised by 7. Or tomorrow. They're pretty big.

Bumper crop of meezers!

Here's something fun to try. Get a box of powdered milk. Put a little bit in a bowl and add a few drops of water to make a dough. Roll little balls of the dough and put them on a cookie sheet to dry. Offer her one, and see what she thinks.

Oh I am just seeing this thread now.
What a lucky kitty Minette is- and of course I cannot count the babies.
Grisette my first cat had kitties two times (30 years ago ;)) first time because then I thought it would be better for the cat to have kittens one time, second time because I thought she wouldn't get pregnant while nursing (Two times wrong thinking, I know).

First time she got them in a closet. Of course we had prepared a nice box but she wanted a sheltered spavce with noone around- and Minette might think the same.

I hope the babies are born naturally- would be better for the relationship between them and their mom.

I suppose whatever they will have inherited they will be the cutest babies ever.

I'm sorry to hear that Minette lost the other babies but I'm glad that Minette and her little black meezer baby seem to be doing fine.
You should look up threads by rg-girlca and emilysgk for pictures of the momcats and kittens they raised.
Rg-girlca's rescue girl Sweetpea lost 4 out of 5 kittens but the 5th kitten grew up to be a healthy and adorable cat named Peapod.
Emilysgk's black kitty Snow had to have a c-section delivery like Minette, she had 3 kittens but lost the runt. I think she had to help bottle feed the other two kittens at first but they both survived and are two cute little calico girls now.
Please keep up posted with pictures as the little black kitten grows.

It will be so much better for the baby to be nursed by Mom - and a lot easier on you too, for sure

Firts day they didn't how to and Minette looked for my help every time the baby was hungry if I wasn't there then she looked for my partner.Smart girl! While I was bottle feeding him , she nudged my hand and licking the baby purring and purring. She was so grateful that she wouldn't leave our side.

Now, she has become quite protective of her baby and that's fine with me.Is mother nature.

I'm sorry that Minette lost her other babies, but so happy to see how well this widdle one is thriving.

Bless you for taking her in and caring for her. :)

Some friends of mine have a cat they call Petit Noir. I'm sure they wouldn't mind you giving the baby that name. Or for that matter, Pequen~o Negro or Kleine Schwartze.

I have a hand puppet black kitten who is called "Black Kitten" Sounds as exotic in German as "Kleine Schwarze" in English ;)

I always thought he was a boy. Why not call him Nero ;) He'll be a king anyway :)

Kittens must be born knowing how to be little heart thieves, this little one sure has stolen mine! He's looking great... growing, gaining weight, eyes wide open, and I think I see a hint of mischief on his sweet little face. I'm so happy that Minette bonded with her baby and is doing a great job in her role as mommycat. One thing is for sure here, there's no shortage of love for the little guy by Minette and you. He's going to be just fine!!! :D :D :D

Just look at that little tummy!!! Little Buddah is so darn precious and apparently growing right on time. When the baby is old enough, would you rub that little tummy for me?

Just to let you know that mama cat and the baby are doing fine.
The wee one is the most darling and affectionate little thing :) . Last Friday was one month old.

He is on the "gremlin stage".If you could see him trying to entice his moma play is histerical!!! :D

No new pictures, will try to get some news on the weekend.

His futures dad is going to name him Kuautemok, it's a azteque god I have been said.
