Is there one song or piece of music that lifts your heart the moment you hear it? Is it because it triggers special memories or just because.........

I can't remember what it's called, but I always felt so much emotion when I hear "You're a Soldier Now" by Brian Adams, its on the Spirit Movie, and also from the Spirit movie "It's a New World" I don't think that's what it is called, but I love it, lifts my spirits everytime!

For me there are a couple

dark blue -- jack's mannequin

i am for you -- waking ashland (this one because of the lyrics)

dashboard -- modest mouse (because of the beat keeps me in a good mood)

blackbird -- the beatles (because this was the song i played for my grandpa when he was alive and whenever i think about him)

Angel Eyes-Jeff Healy Band, this song always has such an effect on me.

Angel Eyes
~ The Jeff Healey Band
written by J. Hiatt and F. Koller
(http://www.links2love.com/music/angeleyes.mid)

Girl, you're looking fine tonight,
and every guy has got you in his sights
What you're doing with a clown like me,
is surely one of life's little mysteries

So tonight I'll ask the stars above,
"How did I ever win your love?"
What did I do?
What did I say,
to turn your angel eyes my way?

Well, I'm the guy who never learned to dance,
never even got one second glance
Across a crowded room was close enough,
I could look but I could never touch

So tonight I'll ask the stars above,
"How did I ever win your love?"
What did I do?
What did I say,
to turn your angel eyes my way?

Don't anyone wake me,
if it's just a dream
'Cause she's the best thing,
that's ever happened to me

All you fellows, you can look all you like,
but this girl, you see, she's leavin' here with me tonight

There's just one more thing that I have to know,
if this is love why does it scare me so?
It must be something only you can see,
'cause girl I feel it when you look at me

So tonight I'll ask the stars above,
"How did I ever win your love?"
What did I do?
What did I say,
to turn your angel eyes my way?

Well, I'm older now, but I still feel connected to The Fab Four, especially George Harrison. For starters, his words to , "Here Comes the Sun"

Love the Bryan Adams song "Soldier"

Sound the bugle now.
Play it just for me.
As the seasons change,
Remember how i used to be.
Now i can't go on;
I can't even start.
I've got nothing left, just an empty heart.
I'm a soilder, wounded so i must give up the fight.
There's nothing more for me.
Lead me away,or leave me lyin' here

Sound the bugle now,
Tell 'em i don't care.
There's not a road I know that leads to anywhere.
Without a light I fear that I will stumble in the dark.
Lay right down and decide not to go on.

Then from on high,
Somewhere in the distance,
There's a voice that calls "Remember who you are!
If you lose yourself
Your courage soon will follow,
So be strong tonight.
Remember who you are."

You're a soldier now,
Fighting in a battle to be free once more!
Yeah! That's worth fighting for

and i dont know if this is a new song or not but Apologize by onerepublic? Anyone heard of it, i just recently heard it for the first time, Im not usually into music like this, but i really like it

My favorite is the "Song from the Moulin Rouge" a.k.a. "Where is Your Heart." sung by Felicia Sanders.

This is where my Felicia got her name. "Where is Your Heart" is her song too.

"Wherever You Will Go" - The Calling.
Its always been a favorite of mine.. here is part of the lyrics:

So lately, been wondering
Who will be there to take my place
When I'm gone you'll need love to light the shadows on your face
If a greater wave shall fall and fall upon us all
Then between the sand and stone could you make it on your own.

If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low, I'll go wherever you will go

And maybe, I'll find out
A way to make it back someday
To watch you, to guide you, through the darkest of your days
If a greater wave shall fall and fall upon us all
Well then I hope there's someone out there
who can bring me back to you

We're playing it at my dad's funeral this afternoon. =]

Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol, it's the first song me and my boyfriend danced to, and I just love the song/lyrics anyways.

8th of November - Big and Rich, my boyfriends "brother" is 19 right now, and is on active duty to go to Iraq. He is a very good friend of mine, and I am terrified to think about him leaving. My boyfriend is also planning on going to basic training soon, so I don't know, I guess it's all the war stuff, and it just makes me sad. :p

"8th Of November"

Said goodbye to his momma as he left South Dakota
To fight for the red, white and blue
He was 19 and green with a new M-16
Just doing what he had to do
He was dropped in the jungle where the choppers would rumble
With the smell of napalm in the air
And the sergeant said...look up ahead
Like a dark evil cloud, 1,200 came down on him and 29 more
They fought for their lives but most of them died in the 173rd Airborne

[Chorus:]
On the 8th of November the angels were crying
As they carried his brothers away
With the fire raining down and the hell all around
There were few men left standing that day
Saw the eagle fly through a clear blue sky
1965, the 8th of November

Now he's 58 and his pony tail's gray
But the battle still plays in his head
He limps when he walks but he's strong when he talks
About the Shrapnel they left in his leg
He puts on a gray suit over his Airborne tattoo
And he ties it on one time a year
And remembers the fallen as he orders a tall one
And swallows it down with his tears

[Chorus]

Saw the eagle fly through a clear blue sky
1965...
On the 8th of November the angels were crying
As they carried his brother away
With the fire raining down and the hell all around
There were few men left standing that day

[Chorus]

Said goodbye to his momma as he left South Dakota
TO fight for the red, white and blue
He was nineteen and green with a new M-16
Just doing what he had to do
