Back home from the hospital!!PICS ADDED on 39 AND NOW ALSO ON 56 !!!!!

Hello PT !!!!

My stay at the hospital is finally over!! I still have to do lots of resting because that nerve that was pinched is damaged and needs to heal by itself. The surgeon said he removed lots of debris! All this stuff was constantly hitting my nerve there, so that operation was very urgent! The wound on my spine is healing very well and getting "itchy" ;) . But the pain in my leg isn't much better yet. The nerve needs almost 6 months to heal!! :( .
But, with so many caring PT-friends, I know I can do it!!
My daughter printed out your replies every day, and they worked much better than a whole bottle of painkillers!! I cannot tell how much I missed all my friends here..... . Sometimes I was bored and said to myself: "Oh let's go and post on PT and chat on MSN !! But then I realised I was there in my hospital bed, not even allowed to get out for a visit to the toilet :rolleyes:

I still won't be able to come on PT a lot, but I will do my very best, that is a promise!!

Nerve damage takes a very long time to heal, so be patient!!!! Get some good books, DVD's or what ever and for the next 6 months you are going to be doing a LOT of relaxing!!! - if you don't you will pay for it!!! Even on your "good" days please don't lift, bend or do anything your not allowed to do!!!

OH MY, I feel soooo honoured by all these sweet replies!! Believe me, it is so good for my soul and mental health!!
Not only Snoopy is a good nurse, they all take turns. Yesterday evening I had one cat on my shoulder, one on my tummy and one on my right foot! Maya was on pawpie's tummy :D

During the period I was in hospital, my bed was a much wanted "resort"!! Very often all 4 cats were napping on it, all together! Wish I had pics of that ;) ; and now, everytime I leave the bed to go to kitchen or toilet, or come here on pc, the bed is "taken" immediately :p :D

I will try to resize some pics of my cuties for next time. I owe this to my devoted cat-nurses !!

It is soooo good to be home!!!!! Yippie!!! I am fearing the coming days a bit, since I will be home alone.... (hubby gets home by 8 pm, Indra by 4.30 pm, Jo by 6 pm). But I have many friends who told me to ring if I need anything!
My hubby did lots of shopping to be sure we have all I need in the house :) . Isn't he a sweetie!? ;) :)

Lut, did your doc recommend anything? I mean, I hear omega deep sea oils are really good for physical nerve stuff. If you are already eating lots of sardines and salmon, no problem! Just a thought.

Of course, furry nurses that keep the bed warm for you are the BEST! :)

LOL, yes!!! In fact she brought it to me to invite me to some playing, haha ;) :D . Well, I sure gave her a dozen kisses on her little forehead!!!

Sorry to admit, but today is NOT a better day. I woke up with a big migraine,and I felt as if a truck ran over me during the night.. .
So, I worked really hard to get better :

Hm, I hoped I would have been painfree after this surgery. BUT...... ONLY IN MY DREAMS :rolleyes: . It is hard to explain in English; the main thing is that EVERY movement causes pain, and I can NOT pick up anything from the floor.. . Poor cats :( . Sorry, I had a bad day today; maybe that a good sleep will help? Tomorrow 1 nurse comes to take a blood sample, and another one comes for an injection :eek: . Oh, I wish I could make myself invisible, I would escape to Pettalkville (who remembers this ??)

Why Lut's furry nurses are better ... contributed by a non-fur nurse!!! :) feel free to add!!!

They don't have cold hands (when I worked on the units I always had patients telling me my hands were cold)
They aren't crabby about scheduling or staffing issues
They aren't wearing squeaky shoes
They can plop their entire body down on their patient
They probably smell a heck of a lot better than some nurses I've crossed paths with
They don't have to deal with irritable doctors or their illegible handwriting
They have a vested interest in taking care of their patient!

Feel better, PT-friend Lut! I think your furry nurses are beautiful!
