Dock Dogs videos (Finn made it to the finals!!!)

Wish us luck today, we are heading to Fort Worth to take Finn to his first competition! I'm sure I'll continue to enter him in the future, no matter how he does today! I have no idea what he'll do, but it should be a ton of fun, no matter what. :) May the luck o' the Irish be with us today! :D

Here's jump number one...12'3"...

This was his worst jump, I totally timed my toss wrong. Oh, well. He was at about 8'6", which is still nothing to frown about! :)

This is his third jump, he got 14'9". :D

And, last, but not certainly not least, is his final and best jump! He actually jumped one time better, but it was in practice, and it was about 18'! This jump is 16'3"!!!

It was a day I'll never forget. We tried for a minute or two to get him to do the Extreme Vertical event, but I couldn't get him to keep his eye on the toy up that high and that far out (it was 8 feet away from the dock and five feet up!). I think if I could get him to focus, he'd be good at that event, too. :)

I hope I don't have to wait too long to do this again!

I will post photos soon, and a video or two, as well. We had SO MUCH FUN!!!! I need to practice throwing and timing more than Finn needs practice, but he still did really well. Absolutely no hesitation at all, and he didn't want to stop! His best jump was 16'3"! YAY FINN!

Thanks for the congrats! I'm just bumping this up to show that I posted videos of each of the jumps we did today. It was so much fun! The winner from today jumped over 21 feet! The finals are tomorrow, but I'm working. That's ok, though, I enjoyed today immensely and I think it would be too much on Finn, anyway. Hope you guys like the videos, they're in the original post!

I just got a call from Max at the Dock Dogs event, and Finn made it to the finals!!!! We can't go, though, I have to work at two. :( But, Finn is pretty worn out today anyway, although he would still give me as many jumps as I asked. He also has numb/dead/water tail, which he has had one other time. The water was cold and he worked hard, so I kindof expected it. So, I'm bummed that we can't make it, but it's probably for the best. I'm proud as I can be of my Finn, even if we can't go today.

Way to go Finn!! That looks like so much fun. Sadly, I have a one dog that hesitates before jumping in and another that avoids puddles like the plague so I have a feeling he's not going to be much of a swimmer.

I LOVE watching those dog sports on TV. I personally love the agility, high jump, and dock jumpers. :D

Perhaps I'll see Finn on TV one day!
