I took Dasher to Petco today for a new stuffie to celebrate his six weeks of no activity after the heartworm treatment. I already knew what toy I was going to get for him. I knew he would like it but I had no idea how much! It's the Mallard duck that quacks. Dasher is so crazy about it that I have to keep it hidden when we're not playing with it. I actually locked him out of my bedroom while I was hiding it. The SPCA was there with dogs for adoption also. One girl remembered Dasher and was happy he was doing well. I got Dasher some treats from the doggie buffet, too. He loves those. I just give him one or two a day as a treat. I have to hurry up and get ready for work but I wanted to upload a video of him playing with Mr. Mallard. I don't think this one is going to last too long. He loves to grab it by the feet and shake it like crazy. Sometimes it goes flying in the air. Very entertaining to watch :D I'll try to get a longer video of it because it's really hilarious. I thought it would be cute to have a pic of Dasher in front of the SPCA van. More pics here in a little bit.

That's great news for you and Dasher. Mr. Mallard is probably on borrowed time from the sound of it. :p

It was very busy in the store so I didn't take any pics inside. While I was filling up his goodie back from the doggie buffet, he sat up for me. He wanted a treat then. Was very cute. The lady in line in front of us gave him a treat from her bag. He's such a good boy.
Here he is waiting for Mr. Mallard. See how happy he looks? I wish I had taken a pic of him that first day I saw him at the SPCA. You'd swear it wasn't the same dog.

I took him to the park yesterday for a short walk. He looks so pretty in the sun.

I have one similar to this of Duke at the dog beach.

Dasher met a 2yr old black Lab named Reese. She had also been under a no exercise policy due to an operation. So, she was wired like Dasher. They were so cute together. As soon as she started approaching, Dasher crouched down on the ground like he wanted to play.

And here he is on a park bench. He was getting rather tired since he hasn't been able to do anything but sleep and eat. He was pooped when we got home last night. Next time I'll take him on a walk just around the neighborhood. I don't want to put too much on him too fast.

And here he is leaning against my recliner. One very tired but happy dog.

Dasher is such a handsome boy. I loved all of the pictures, and the video was adorable aswell. Tango has the same toy, and loves is almost as much as Dasher loves his. :)

I'm so happy that Dasher has done well throughout his treatment. He looks wonderful. Congratulations for getting him through the process. That duck is like one we've had (a number of times). Lots of fun.

I am so glad he had a good time! I am EVER HAPPIER that you took on a dog with heartworm. Most people wont as this is an expensive disease to treat- with time and commitment absolutely necessary!!! BIG HIGH FIVE!!!

Val, Dasher looks great. He is so handsome in his closeup in the sun
picture. :) He just looks like the picture of health now.I really liked the pic
of him on the bench with his one leg hanging down. Maggie lays like
that with one leg extending backwards. :D

I have had to hide some of the really noisy toys too. The pups would squeek
them nonstop for hours if I didn't. :D

Here's a couple of more pics and a longer video of him playing with Mr. Mallard. If you think he shakes it a lot outside, you should see him inside when he doesn't hae a leash in the way. It's so funny to watch. And he loves that mini basketball, too. He gets so spastic when he's playing with it. I must say, I enjoy seeing him enjoy being a dog. Soon it will be pool weather. Can't wait!

The other night I was almost late to work because he had fallen asleep beside me with his head under my armpit and one front leg draped over my stomach. He was snoring away. I couldn't bear to wake him.

Borziomom: I was lucky I didn't have to pay for the treatment. The vet does it for free for anyone that adopts a dog from the SPCA.

Here he is with his fresh "kill"

Hey Handsome Dasher ~ Molly wants to know if she can have your Mallard. Mickey had one just like it but she destroyed it on him and now he is very upset!

Ha ha! I just asked Dasher. He gave a long paws, then said he could share but she could not have Mr. Mallard forever. He might have to go into rehab if he was taken away completely.

Dasher is way to hansome! My mallords are hiding right now. Just the thought of being a toy makes them shutter. ;) He is so lucky to have you!
