I saw Emma today and took her out for a walk. She was very well behaved, obviously she's listening better to me than to my mother! :D

Here are some pictures I took today:

An encounter with Dino:

The good thing is that Emma and Dino are almost friends now (she's already good friends with Peggy, the other kitty), and that Emma doesn't chase Dino anymore when they meet outside. Dino, however, let her know very clearly that he doesn't want her to come any closer, and she accepted his wish. :)

When we came back to the restaurant, we found that Emma had visitors. The couple from which my mother and Reinhold have adopted baby Emma last year was there and they had a littkle pup with them (a cute little bordeaux who's also called "Emma"). We learnt that our Emma's mom has passed away only three weeks ago, she had a very aggressive form of cancer and declined quickly. Her humans could hardly believe it as she was only 4 years old. Now my mother is worried that Emma may also get cancer at such a young age... :(

Your mother is probably aware that Rotties are prone to cancers as well as Boxers and a few other breeds. Early detection is the key. Even though a short haired breed, gentle brushing or hands on daily or at least weekly will help detect this for the most part.
Beautiful pictures by the way!

Emma is so pretty! sad to hear about her mom.

I have been there twice! Our first rotti had to b put down at the age of 4, and our second at the age of 6. This is one of the reasons why I have yet to get another. I love the breed dearly, but I just cannot go through that again. Maybe someday I will get another, but for nw I just cant.

Thanks! I will tell my mother to check her regularly. It's true that I know some rotties who died from cancer, but they were older. And as you know, their other rottie, Rocky, also has a cancerous disease, but he is twelve (which is, as Emma's "breeder" confirmed today, very old for a rottweiler). Hopefully Emma will have a longer life than Paula, her mom.

critter crazy, that sounds just heartbreaking! I'm very sorry to hear that you have lost your beloved rottie friends at such a young age!

Emma is such a doll. I always look forward to seeing her pictures.

Sorry to hear about her mama passing away. And you have my sympathies, critter crazy. That would break my heart too. I lost my rotti-mix three years ago today - she was only 3, but her death was caused by a truck accident. Still, whatever the reason, it hurts to lose them so young.

Love that first picture. She really is still a cutie pie, isn't she? I am so sorry to hear about her mother. I did not know that about Rottweilers. I am sure it will help the owners of her mother to still be able to see and have contact with Emma.

great pics! they both are so cute. that is so sad about her mom. :(
we had a rottie at the shelter that we adopted out to a judge that just
put his rottie down and wanted another one and we named her Sicily and
he named her Justice and the lady who runs the shelter who went to give
him treats for Justice on Christmas and found out that he had to put her down from
cancer. :( she was only 2. I will pray Emma doesn't have cancer!

Oh yes, she is! And she's only 10 months old. Time really flies, not long ago that she looked like this:

Your pictures are always so good and Emma is so pretty. I love the tail and think it just adds something to her. They grow up too fast! I'm so sorry to hear about her mommy.

Keep the pics coming!
