Katie doesn't bark much and actually neither of my girls do much barking. They like to talk to you once in awhile but never really full out bark. I'm often told that I have the quietest dogs in the neighborhood. Katie will bark when something is different. Usually if there is a new person walking around outside that she doesn't know and is new to the territory. The house beside us has been empty for the past few months and today there are some people there cleaning up the place. Since they are new Katie did some barking and I took some video of her. Yes, that is Tori bugging me at the end of each video. She doesn't like it when someone else gets the attention...lol.

Katie's markings are gorgeous! Her voice is much higher than I expected. It's easier to see how big she is on the videos - she's quite a bit larger than her sis. I love her wooing to Tori - Star does that to Sherman quite a bit too. And Tori got her little cameo in right there at the end, silly girl! so nice to see your girls around here again!

I love seeing your girls in action and hearing Katie's bark. :) They look so toasty warm in their beautiful thick coats that I didn't even shiver looking at all of that snow. :) I loved this picture! How cute!

What a good girl, Katie, warning your mommy of the newcomers. You've got some GREAT shots there, Robin!

Beautiful markings on them! Just beautiful!
Its amazing to me as well having non-barkers- they can let someone know if necessary. Zubin shocked me that day he barked .. Its funny that with those of us with 'non barking types"- when they do- we pay attention Real fast!

edited to add -
Checked the videos - toooo cute! :)
I was asking Keegan - who is that? Is that Katie? And she went running from window to window barking. :) Then when you spoke she cocked her head. :)
I think she misses her PT Aunties! :)

Ooh, I love that big beautiful Katie girl. She just looks like she is such a big soft sweetheart. But, ah, she can be a very good watch dog too. Good job, Katie. :) And Tori, you are still as pretty as ever, too. I love the pictures.

Those videos were cute, I enjoyed Katie's "talking" (and Tori pestering you ;) ). They sure enjoy playing in the snow! If you don't mind I think I'm going to have to send my co-worker some Katie pics, she LOVES akitas!

Send all you want. You can find plenty of them in my imagestation albums;).

Katie does have a much deeper bark when she wants to use it and she seems to use it when it is something serious. The bark in the video is her bark just to let the people know she sees them and that she is there watching them. If she senses something bad or something really wrong she gives out a much deeper bark and it is usually one bark and a very serious bark. That is the bark when I really know to pay attention and be on the look out. I trust her instincts. Her look, size and bark is enough to keep me safe, but I swear if the boogey man were to break in she wouldn't do a thing. She would probably just woo and wiggle all around him...lol. I hope I never have to find out.
