It seems that people get their milk differently in differnt places ... Here in Canadaland, we have the option of Jugs, Cartons, and the Mysterious Bags of Milk! (the question came up after I posted the milk drinking picture in the Let's See You! (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=121791) thread. :)

Milk in Bags -- A FAQ from Gabbly
1. Do the bags 'pop' or burst?
NO.

2. Are the bags sealed?
Yes. They are sealed on both sides, using one of those heat sealer things.

3. How do you open the Bags?
You use scissors and cut the tip off one corner to pour.

4. Do you drink it straight from the bag?
No, i'm a heathen.

5. Does Chocolate Milk come in Bags too?
yes.

6. Does it expire?
Yes, just like regular milk, regardless if you open it or not. Just like a carton or jug.

Hehehe. Go Canada bags!!!! Woot Woot!!

*inspired by a gabbly chat about the ownders of bagged milk.*

I got some pics of the mysterious bagged milk. Hehehe, the bags don't EVER pop. :p

*gasp!*

1) buy a bag that has 3 bags inside:

2)Take a small bag out of the bigger bag. Put the small bag in the funny-shaped container and cut one corner off the smaller bag.

3) Pour carefully if it's your first time. And never pour too quickly.

DRINK IT MY WAY!!! If you attempt to drink it this way, you will most likely spill it all over yourself. I have been drinking milk this way my whole life and still haven't mastered the "drinking out of the bag" routine. Blue frog is very talented!! :p

The milk we buy from the supermarket comes in a plastic carton, but your traditional milk from the milk-man comes in glass bottles.

Milk in bags??? Weird! We have jugs and cartons, and I've seen glass bottles at my aunt's house in England, but never have I seen milk 'bags' in my many visits to Canada. I'm surprised.

We've gotten a few "WTF?" now. hahaha. You'd think there'd have been a TV show that's canadian where at some point, the main character drinks some milk... :p

I didn't know milk game in bags anymore. I've never seen them, nor heard of anything like it. Perhaps they're only in eastern Canada. Anyway, we buy ours in cartons and jugs.

It very well could be -- Ontario, and Quebec (im pretty sure) do, not sure about other provinces though :)

I voted the last one. I cannot stand the taste, texture, etc. of milk. We rarely, and I mean once in a blue moon, have milk in our home. We often use powdered creamer and make it into a milk if we need it for a recipe. :p

milk is gross. It makes me feel like my intestines are about to burst or something! I have had it right out of the cow though, about 100 degrees F and nasty.

I like most dairy products, but I've never enjoyed plain milk. We usually don't buy it unless I need it for a recipe. Sometimes we buy soy milk though, and that comes in cartons. :)

LOL, never actually tried it, firstly because I don't really like drinking pure milk, and secondly because we stopped paying the milk-man so he no longer comes :p

When I was growing up we used to get a large amount of milk (2.5 gal?) in a bag-in-a-box with a spout. You upened the spout and the air would push the milk of the bag (think Franzia wine!)
