Woooooweeeee is it a Blizzard out there!!!
(but I love it! :D )

We got 18" of snow on the ground, but the worst part of it is the drifting because it's blowing SOOOO much!
I opened the back door to let the pups out this am and they were greeted by a 3 1/2 foot snow drift. They looked at me as if they were asking me to shovel them a path!
So I shoved them out the door, they bounded through the drifts and had a romp in the snow for a while! They loved it!
Then the hubby and I had to shovel the driveway for an hour and a half.
We had a 4 foot wall at the end of our drive from the county snow plows
I was only 45 mins late for work... not too bad concidering EVERYTHING is closed around here. My boss would Never close our shop, I work in a body shop! :D We're going to get busy now!
I took 2 pics from my phone:
This was my ride home last night:

And this was my drive into work this morning:

My hubby works for a local school district that is closed today so he gets to plow snow all day today!

HOW do you drive in that stuff? In the south we have NO CLUE how to drive in that. My baby brother that lived down here and moved to Oregan tried it and this is what happened....

This was the 4th cruise in that department that wrecked that month on the ice. He got out after the car came to a stop and slipped and fell on the ice.

So I ask... How do you manage to drive in that stuff?

Laura, LOL, I have no idea how to explain how we drive. I would respond: carefully. but as I look out side my window, I see a LOT of idiots speeding along as if its a perfect clear day. We live on a snow emergency route, so the roads are better here than anywhere else but they are still looking pretty bad.

I have off today! WOohoo!!!! You all have no idea how much I needed this! I am just sheer exhausted. I think I'm coming down with a sinus infection (which is like most people come down with a headache -- I get these too often  ) so my head is pounding from the siuns pressure. and guess what hubby suggested I do today? Taxes! IS HE NUTS?!?!?

Anyhow, this white stuff is gorgeous and I have been waiting all winter for a good storm.

HOW do you drive in that stuff?

I have a 4 wheel drive blazer AND I have sand bags in the bag to make it heavier.

Wow, you guys got a ton of snow. We got well over a foot of snow
here to with the giant drifts. I had to struggle to open the back door to the
yard this morning & then couldn't get it closed again. Had to throw on coat
and boots to shovel the snow away from the door & make a path for the
pups. (all this before my first cup of coffee) :( It's not really that cold so it's
not that bad out. :)

We're getting a blizzard here in Vermont now.
It is supposed to be between 16 and 26 inches of snow when it's done.
My kids got the day off from school, I took the day off from work and my husband is working from home today.
It's really windy now and the snow drifts are amazing!
