I am so thrilled that Ally is going to be moving to PA to live with Jenn L (is that right?) from Bahrain.

What can we do to help get her there?

We were waiting for Julie, but she is having internet trouble. I'll get Jenn to post with her paypal account. That is the way we are going to take donations (since Julie can't receive money on her paypal). then we will get the money to Julie to buy Ally her ticket. This is how we did it for Connor.

OH Jenn.....where are you???

I don't think so. :( But you could send a check if you want. We'll get you an address. :)

Does anyone know yet what our goal is that we need to hit as far as funds go? I'm sure it's got to be fairly expensive to transport little Ally.

I'm only able to donate a little (my husband isn't a softie, that he's even letting me donate is a HUGE surprise)... but I'm sure every little bit counts.

Hey! I'm here!!! Sorry, was watching the tacky "Beauty and the Geek" and then "You're the one that I want" just came on, and I've never seen it. It's not exactly my type of show... there's no CSIs on now :(

To send money for Ally's transport, you can use my PayPal account:
[email protected] . It's my business account for ebay selling,
so it can accept credit cards. If you want to mail a check, I guess you
can send it to me as well, then I'll transfer the funds into the account.
My mailing address is:
Jennie Hall
23 S. 14th St.
Allentown, PA 18102

I think that's all you need.

Go here for PayPal. https://www.paypal.com/

Ok, I'm going to go turn off this hideous singing....

She's actually going to be living with me, Jenn_Librarian, and Jen L will be the back up. We live about 5-7mins from eachother, so it's very convenient :D :D

I'm not sure which airline Julie will be using, but I found that Gulf Air in Bahrain will ship animals... their page on animal shipping is here:

OK, now.... how soon does all this have to happen? The reason for asking that is I know they will not fly/ship animals in cold, cold or hot, hot weather. There are tempature requirements the airlines have and I am afraid this will be a big factor...

I have no clue.. I think we're all waiting for Julie to respond with the answers as best she knows them. I know she's having internet issues right now, so it may be a few days.

Posted this to the other thread as well...

Ok, so apparently to get info on rates on animal transport one must call the British Airways office in London, or in Bahrain itself. I have the number for the animal cargo office in London, but can't call it at the moment.

Is there anyone on here from England who could call and ask how much it would cost from Bahrain to NY or Washing DC, or even Philadelphia??
The number there (if dailing from US) 01144-8457-222-777 He said it is option 2 after that (he thinks, anyway).

I just heard from Julie about the cost to ship Connor to the states. This is going to take a good bit of fundraising. I hope we can raise a decent amount to offset the cost!

Hi Jennie,

When I shipped Connor is cost around $1200 excluding the cost of a crate, as I already had one....

I have a friend in Bahrain calling the airlines there for me - so hopefully I will finaliase the cost, date and route soon!

Thanks

Julie

Here's a thought that my assistant at work asked:

Would it matter if someone was flying from Bahrain to the US and we just bought an extra seat instead of paying for the Cargo shipping?? I don't trust putting an animal in the cargo hold, it gets really cold, and most airlines don't guarantee that your pet will come out safe. Can they actually purchase a seat and then put the cat in a carrier next to them???

not sure but when we flew to Italy Vixen had to be under the seat. And she had to be accompanied. I think it would depend on the airline.

It would be nice if there would be someone traveling at that same time to the States... I wonder if she knows anyone who is doing that??

It would depend on the carrier and you don't usually have to buy the additional seat because Ally would just go under whoever is bringing her to the US. Some carriers do not allow any animals (except for service animals) on the flights.
