OK as most of you know we have adopted a puppy we were told was a newf X. I just want to get some info.

The puppy is suppose to be 6 weeks old but for me is rather small for being either 6 weeks or being a newf X. Does anyone know the approximate size and/or weight of a 6 week old newf pup? I know it would vary and it would also be different for a X.

We went to see the fluffbutt Monday and she is a bundle of joy. So very happy and I even got my first kisses. I think my heart about burst when I got kisses. Too sweet. Anyway, we are going again on Thursday and I will get pics. I PROMISE!!!

Man I want my baby home...this waiting is killing me.

Oh yeah also if there are specific things I should get our new baby checked for at the vet let me know. I do know I should have a vet cardiologist test our puppy between 8-12 weeks for sub-aortic stenosis. Is there anything else I should have tested?

Thanks
Michelle

:) Hey Michelle are you talking about Newfoundlanders?? If so they are black & fluffy fluffy in coat.. They are used as water rescue dogs due to their coat repells water.. Their strength is of normas.. They are a child's best Guardian Angel for protection.. They are super laid back.. They will be about the size of a Rottie or a Great Perineise.. Hope this helps..

Thanks helene. I know all about their size when they are adult and the attributes. My baby is black and white like a landseer. The dolly has 4 white paws and a white collar. Super cute. They should be about 100-120 lbs full grown. I was more looking for the size they are as a 4-6 week old puppy. Thanks so much for your reply. :) You are always the first to be there with advice and to lend a helping in hand. You are a doll.

Thanks so much.

You know looking at the pic of Jonah at 4 weeks it looks like my baby could very well be about 6 or 7 weeks. But no way 15-20 lbs. I would say 10-12 at most. But then again if she is part of the litter that she was brought in with then that means she has lab in her and will be smaller. We were looking at the pics on this site and she looks structurally almost identical to the puppies in this picture.

mmmmmm....I guess we will just have to wait til we bring Artica home and have her seen by a vet.

Oh and BTW...we were told she is a girl.
