As discussed in General last week, I have a rosebud snipping critter in my yard. Once I established that Edwina is not the guilty party I put her to work to solve the mystery....

First she examined the scene of the crime....

then...at ZippyKat's suggestion she checked the herb garden. Has anyone been nibbling on the parsley?

Nope....that rules out any bunny rabbits.

So she set up a stakeout....

however...I'm a bit worried about her powers of observation!

Oh, Edwina, are you the new Sherlock Holmes? (female version of course). I hope you can help your mommy to catch this "critter".

Great pics Sara! :)

LOL!!! You need to get her a hat like Sherlock Holmes wore and take a picture. She's plenty cute without one though. Oh, by the way, I nicknamed the stray that looks like he could be her brother, Ed, in her honor. He won't come close enough to be petted yet, but I'm working on it.:D

Oh Edwina, you are such a delightful kitty! I just love your disposition. Have you had any luck catching the critter? Well, the other critter, anyway.

LOL:)

Oh, Edwina you beauty! I can see you're interested, but in the end, just too lazy to do something about it! :D Fister would love to come and join in and help you get that critter! :p

What a wonderful garden you have ...... and great pics! ;)

Edwina I was very impressed with your preliminary "leg work" but you seem to have run out of steam right at the end when you might have been able to nab the culprit. I am supposing that you might not have your mind on your work since alas it has been so long since your Marius has written of his love. I am sure that must have been the problem and that you were just having an "off day." :) Better luck next time, and oh tell your mom she takes some really nice pictures! :)

Well...... I think comments about Edwina "Warrior Princess"s
power of observation are unwarrented.I sure she observed,
but she chose not to tip her hand. LOL.

:D Besides, the bush was in the way.:D :D Go Edwina....

How funny!! Maybe Wina was trying to throw the squirel off by "ignoring" it??? :D

Great photo story! Edwina, you are so smart to do all the leg work first. And I'm sure you knew that squirrel was there, you were just being like the CIA (or is it the FBI) and letting the one bandit go in hopes he will lead you to the bigger prey. Veerrryyyy smart kitty. :D

I always thought Edwina was a *short* haired cat. But in these pictures it looks like her hair is a little longer, like maybe a *medium* haired cat? She sure is a cutie. :)

Edwina has a very unusual coat -- which people always comment on when seeing her in purrson. It is not short nor long so I guess medisum would be correct but it has a different texture to it. I tell her one of her ancestors must of been a French Charteaux (sp?) but right now I would describe it as sheading EVERYWHERE!

What beautiful pictures of our very own Pet Talk detective! Yes, Edwina is just biding her time until she can catch her culprit in the act!

Sara, how does the harness work out for you? It looks as though Edwina doesn't mind it. I have had to make Rascal an indoor kitty only because he was getting into so many fights. But he is a very sad boy. The harness might be the answer - but he hated collars - so I am not sure!

Gini - She tolerates the harness. She knows it is the only way to get to go outside. She does not like it and will walk with a limp if she thinks of it. Most of the time she forgets to be dramatic and it is just there. It is very hard for her to get out of on her own (unlike a regular harness.) I have a bell and a leash on it so I can drag her out of the bushes, find her if she is hiding in the yard, and the birds can hear her coming! (Our yard is fenced.) It did take some getting used to for her. Now once in a while she will even let me "walk" her on it!

Here's where I got it. Cat Walking Jacket http://www.hdw-inc.com/frameset.htm.

By the way...sasvermont was going to get a couple (guess it would be three now. :D ) How are they working out?

Well, I sent away for two and ended up giving one to a neighbor, and her cat is fine with it. I put one on Graemer, and he didn't mind it. I haven't had the time to take Graemer outside and experiment with him/it. And now that I have Gabe around too, it seems as though I might wait until things settle down inside before I take Graemer outside. I am sure he will be like a wild animal outside, trying to run all over the place. He has escaped a couple of times and is IMPOSSIBLE to catch. He has no fear of cars etc. He just runs. So If I do let him out on the leash with his new collar/harness, I will probably wait awhile and then tie him to my waist so he doesn't take off!

I think the harnesses are made nicely, seem comfortable and are.....attractive! Of course!

I know *exactly* what you mean. Peanut is not so bad, but black Tubby hair is EVERYWHERE these days. All I have to do is pet him and a whole handful goes flying. I could brush him 24 hours a day and he would still be shedding when I got done.

Lut, click on the link again, and look below and it will give you the main link to click on - and then you are into the site.

A very funny idea - what would our cats do if they could have a harness and a leash for us?

Lut - You're right. I got the same message which is strange since I used the copy functions

Here it is again. The name of the company is HDW Enterprises and the harnesses do come in sizes!
