This is the "before" look. Lots of pink stains.

Here are some pictures of Sugar, her second bath!

Muddy4paws tells me Sugar is refered to as a "statue dog" by groomers. Sugar just stands still and tolerates bath time. As you can see, I left her, walked across the room, picked up the camera, took some shots, and returned to her. She never shook, never tried to jump down or step out of the sink onto the counter.

I wrap her in towels and a blanket to keep her warm while I clean things up in the kitchen.

Next she goes on the table while I use the blow dryer, brush her out and fluff her up!

More to come, stand by!

She prefers to sit on the loveseat and get her bearings after all that primping and trimming. I didn't cut much, just wanted to get all that pink stain off of her.

Next it's time to seek some sympathy from Dad.

But the best part is treat time after it is all done! Carrots, her absolute FAVORITE!

That's Cuddles watching her munch.

Finally, time to have a little nap after all that primping. Tough to find a good spot on this bed with all the cats around. Vita and Cuddles are so accepting that they have started NOT moving when Sugar appears!

Hope you enjoyed!

aaaaaaaawwwwww...what a sweet pooch.

Funny how Sugar is a statue when given a bath.

What are those pink stains anyways? Is that just her coloring or something?

Cute photos btw.

The pink stains are from her saliva mixing with the white hair. She was allergic to something the last groomer used on her, and she was itching terribly. Which is why I am giving her baths at home. I am now using the formula for "Bichon Bubbles," which you mix up yourself. She does not itch after using it. The stains do not wash out. You need to wait for the hair to grow and then cut off the stained ends.

I take her to the groomer's first time on Jan 26th, for a trim. I will give her that bath here at home. I don't want to take the chance the groomer here uses something she is allergic to again. (Her last grooming was at her foster mom's home in Ohio.)

Oh yes. I remember reading about the Bichon Bubbles. And since I have poison ivy right now and am itchy all over, I can relate to Sugar's allergic reaction. Give her a big hug for me, won't you? :)
