I recently got a new camera...sometimes the pictures are really grainy as if I didn't have a flash and it's dark...however the room was well lit and a flash was used. Any ideas?

You can see how grainy it is

I must be going *blind* in my old age. I think the pictures look great. Your fur kids are beautiful. :D

What is the ISO set at? What type of camera is it?

Nice to see Zeke and Josie again :)

It's a Canon S3IS and the ISO was set on auto

Hmm.. they don't look too bad to me, but try manually selecting a lower ISO to see if it makes a difference.

These pictures look great to me!! Such cute puppies, by the way!! :D

But I have changed the ISO on my camera and they do get grainy, so I know what you're talking about. But these look fine to me.

Only two? We need more than that! Josie and Zeke look great! I'm not sure about the grainy look. Hey you can send me your "old" camera ;) just kidding. I want a Canon Rebel though. What kind of camera is the new one?

Hmm...they don't look grainy to me. Josie and Zeke look beautiful (beacuse they are) and very clear.

Wow those pictures are great! You could be a photographer. What does grainy mean?

Do you know what the ISO was in those pictures, though? If you look in the EXIF info it should tell you. It looks like it's at 800. Try setting it at 400. 200 would be better but since your dogs are dark it might come out blurry, but you could try it that low as well.

Those pictures look very nice to me. It's great to see your sweeties again!

I'd try manually lowering or highering your ISO setting, and see what turns out better. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the ISO is automatically set at 100 in many cameras.

Awwwwwies! It's great to see those two, Audrey. We rarely get to. I almost missed this thread, too.
