One of my best friends, Christine, adopted Chase a little over a year ago. They adopted him from an Aussie rescue. He was 7 years old, and had been living as a neglected, alone "outside dog" for most of his life. He was overweight & pretty sickly. I remember his coat being really sparse and matted. He still had an awesome personality despite being neglected, and he loved everyone... Christine's Mom has a pre-school, and he would play with all of the little kids. He was constantly smiling, like a big happy dork. =] He always loved dressing up, and I probably made at least 20 bandanas for him over the past year. You could hold out the bandana and he would slip his head in and prance around, he was the cutesssttt!

Gonzo & Chase were best buddies since the first time they hung out. :] Which is funny, because both of them are very picky about dog friends. They loved racing each other when we threw a frizbee for them in the park, and Chase tried so hard even though Gonzo always beat him...

Chase also LOVED Fozzie from the first time they met. Chase was like Fozzie's uncle, and would allow Fozz to jump all over him when he was a little guy. It was so, so, so sweet watching Chase, Fozzie & Gonzo all romping around together. We always met up at the park on Saturday to let them play together.

The day after Christmas, Chase was acting lethargic and had no appetite, which is n o t like him at all. They took him to the Vet, then to UC Davis, and they determined that he had a malignant tumor around his heart. They tried draining the fluid, but it was full again by the next day. All of us (Christine's friends) visited Chase a few days later, and we brought him bandanas, which he loved. He passed away on new years day. He was only 8 years old, and otherwise completely healthy and happy... I'm still in a state of shock. I will forward any comments to Christine, she's a huge dog lover & they would means a lot to her.

Chase, what a beautiful boy you were. Your smile could light up the night. I'm so glad you finally found a good home and could experience being loved before you left this world too soon. Rest well and happy at the RB.
