I was thinking....does anybody want to teach their dog a command/trick each week? I thought we could all concentrate on one command or trick each week and try to perfect it until the following week, when we'll go onto another command or trick. Perhaps we could even post a picture of our dogs perfecting that weeks command or trick. And if your dog is already perfect at what we're learning that week, then you can give everybody else some tips or ideas?

I've been thinking about this ever since I saw Kfamr with her little puppy and all the tricks the puppy can do now.

Also, Fenway took a tricks class but they had us learn so many tricks in his class that I found it confusing and so now he doesn't know any real tricks. I just thought it would be easier to to learn one command or trick per week. He knows how to sit and to down. But for those folks who'se dogs don't know those commands, we could start with the basic "sit" command.

Is anybody interested or do you think this is a stupid idea?

Sounds like a fun idea! I'd be willing to help "teach" it ;)

this sounds really fun. Niņo seems to be stuck, we can't think of any new tricks he can do (or at least how to teach them)

ROFL! That is the best trick ever!

This sounds like something fun to do. Although I have a Terrier(that should say enough...lol), and a dog who has "Immadog syndrome". This could be challenging...lol.

Sounds like fun.

Riley will try, but most likely forget any tricks. Frankie will think I'm crazy and won't understand the silly "human says what?" things, but it'll be fun to give it a go.

Sounds like a good idea.
Travis already knows a large amount of "tricks" and commands and right now we're stuck as to what to learn next.
If any tricks come up that we already know I'd be more than willing to help teach. Dog training is one of my favorite hobbies ;)
Definetly interested to see if there are any good ideas as to what we could learn next.

Sadie is laughing at me she says she's "retired", so she won't be learning any new tricks but it does sound like a fun idea to me!

Sounds good to me. Bruce is the better trainer in my house, but we can give it a try.
What works for me is to have Bruce teach her the tricks and then I can have her perform them. LOL

It sounds like fun! I am having a hard time with Romeo-maybe I'll "enroll" him. :)

He's somewhat of a challenge-seems like he has ADD, and if I don't have food in my hand, he won't pay attention whatsoever. He does walk very nicely on a leash and comes when called, and he (usually) sits..but as far as "down"? Paw? What the heck do you want me to do Mom? Oh..there's a dust bunny..weee! It's strictly positive reinforcement too, no correction whatsoever, or he "freezes" and won't do a thing for the rest of the lesson.
