Just looked up the 2007 NASCAR TV Broadcast Schedule on NASCAR.com ...

NASCAR must not want me watchin their Advertisers very badly ... http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/rolleyes.gif

Starting with Daytona on Feb 18, and ending with Dover on June 3 ...
Dear ole FOX network gets the honors of exclusive rights ...
and rewards us with a *snowy* signal from Cleveland. http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/tongue.gif

THEN we get 13 Races OFF (UNless you have Cable or Dish - 'cause ONLY TNT or ESPN
cover the June 3 to September 8 Races!) I geuss I didn't wanna watch NASCAR this summer.

And to finish the season - good ole ABC jumps on the NASCAR Cash Cow and
learns how to cover a Race - we hope. They get the honors for 8 Races
covering September 16 to the Last Race on November 18. ABC Youngstown is "local" ... but sends a rather "poor" signal out to the western frontier ... http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/frown.gif

OH well ... the Dawgs weren't totally enthralled with watchin the Races ...
guess it's time to find another hobby!

I have cable and still can't get the Fox channels in real clear.
Last year I missed a lot of races because they seemed to switch channels every other weekend. I wish they would just use one station that everyone can see! :(

I am lucky enough to have cable, Sirius Satelitte radio and Trackpass on Nascar.com One way or another, I will be watching, listening to or following
online every bit of qualifying, and racing, from Truck to Busch to Nextel Cup I can find!! No, I am not obsessed!

Daytona 500 may be Feb 18, but the Shoot Out is February 10. Almost time to go racing!!!!

LOLOLOLOL,

A shackled prisoner escaped from a group of prisoners being moved.

He steals a giant tour bus, eludes the police and shows up at a racetrack asking for a new generator for the MH...It seems tony Stewart is going to show up to do a surprise race...

The track owners ask for ID and the dude splits!

#6 Hauler involved in wreck in Texas UPDATE 3 former Cup driver injured:

A NASCAR hauler carrying the #6 Roush Racing AAA Ford Fusion was involved in a multi-vehicle wreck 85 miles east of El Paso mid-morning Wednesday, according to Border Patrol officials. The accident occurred just after 9:00ammt [11:00am/et] at mile marker 102 on Interstate 10, near the Border Patrol check point outside the community of Sierra Blanca. Truck driver Jesse Bear, tells ABC-7 the tractor-trailer struck a motor home in the rear. According to ABC-7 reporter Darren Hunt, the front part of the rig's cab was completely torn off. The NASCAR hauler, owned by Roush Racing, was only transporting the AAA-sponsored racecar. Driver David Ragan was not involved in the wreck. Bear adds there were "a few other vehicles in the wreck, but everything was crushed together." Crews diverted eastbound traffic from the Interstate to an access road as crews cleaned up the scene. According to Border Patrol agents at the checkpoint, the hauler struck a motor home, which then struck another 18 wheeler, that then struck a 2nd tractor trailer. Emergency radio transmissions indicated that at least one person was rushed to Thomason Hospital with serious injuries. Emergency officials add there were 3 other persons transported to local hospitals. Emergency crews with Culberson County, Hudspeth County, and Ft. Hancock all responded to the scene of the accident. Law enforcement officials tell ABC-7 accidents of this type are not unusual for the checkpoint, as drivers aren't expecting to have to stop quickly, just off the interstate.(updated from kvia.com (http://www.kvia.com/Global/story.asp?S=6017576))

UPDATE: Roush Racing can confirm that the #6 Nextel Cup transporter was involved in a multi-vehicle accident with injuries in Sierra Blanca, TX in route from Las Vegas, NV to Concord, N.C. They will provide additional details as they become available.(Roush Racing PR (http://www.roushracing.com/jack_roush/articles/default.asp?page=xb013107_004.htm))(1-31-2007)

UPDATE 2: A driver of a tractor-trailer with the NASCAR logo was critically injured in a traffic collision at the Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca today, a Texas Department of Public Safety Official said. Joe Millikan, the driver of the NASCAR tractor trailer, was taken by ambulance to Thomason Hospital. Three other people, including Milliken's driving partner, suffered nonlife-threatening injuries. They also were taken to Thomason. Their names were not available, DPS dispatcher Julian Najera said. The cause of the crash has not been determined. Officials were also unable to say what vehicle the other victims were traveling in.(El Paso Times (http://www.elpasotimes.com/breakingnews/ci_5127111))

UPDATE 3: Two Roush Racing employees were injured in a multi-vehicle accident 85 miles east of El Paso, Texas yesterday morning. Justin Grebe, the driver of the #6 Roush Racing Nextel Cup transporter was treated and released from Thomason Hospital. Driving partner Joe Millikan, a passenger, is in stable condition in the Thomason Hospital intensive care unit. The two were returning to Concord, N.C. from a test in Las Vegas, Nev. According to local news reports, two other people also were taken to Thomason Hospital after suffering non life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash has not been determined. Roush Racing will provide additional details as they become available.(Roush Racing PR (http://www.roushracing.com/david_ragan/default.asp?page=/david_ragan/articles/020107_001.htm))

Millikan ran in 80 Cup races from 1974 to 1986, with 10 top-fives, 38 top-10s and one career pole. His best season was in 1979 with 20 top-10s in 31 starts [his only full season], finishing 6th in points and was 2nd in the rookie race to the late Dale Earnhardt. His best finish was a 2nd at the March 1979 Rockingham race in the #72-Hayes Jewelers (http://www.hayesjewelers.com/) Chevy.(racing-reference.info (http://www.racing-reference.info/driver?id=millijo02))(2-1-2007)

Kenseth and Kahne I'll give a pass to, as they don't own the cars, didn't hire their crewchiefs, etc.

Mikey? Come on, guy, when NASCAR takes the intake manifold, THEN comes back and takes the whole car, you did something wrong. You own the team, it falls 100% on you.

The others were the 3 Everham cars: Sadler, Riggs and Kahne
And Matt Kenseth's Rousch Ford.

I'm not sure how I feel about it. Things are are listed as against the rules should be penalized, but I think teams are always looking for an extra advantage, and if they went over every car in the field with a fine tooth comb, there would be some things found that maybe weren't specifically against the ruels, but maybe weren't exactly listed as being legal either.

I do know Tony is on a roll... Go 20!!!

Here's where I have a problem with NASCAR and their penalties.

Mark Martin had a problam 2 years ago with his car in a post race inspection. The coil length on one of the springs on his car was 1/8" too short. Not 1/8" in height, but if you straightened out the spring, the length of the straightened spring was 1/8" under spec. Absolutely NO competetive advantage whatsoever, and MIGHT have saved 1/2 ounce or so of weight.

They fined him 25 drivers points, and fined Roush $25,000.

The holes in the bolts that they fined Evernham motorsports for gave no competetive advantage, but they fined Evernham Motorsports, suspended crewchiefs, and took points. They didn't find these holes in PRE race inspection why?

The same goes for Kenseth's car. They didn't find the holes in the body work during PRE qual tech inspection?

If they passed pre qual tech, why weren't the Pre-qual tech inspectors fined?

Gordon's car, from what I've heard, wasn't an inch low overall, it was an inch low in one measurement are because a shock was improperly installed. A shock that NASCAR WATCHED the team install, as NASCAR issues and seals the shocks used on the car before qualifying.

NASCAR needs to get their act together, and stop re-writing the rule book on the fly. They also need to get their inspection process down so teams aren't getting fined by one inspector for something another inspector passed.

The race was a blast!!! Just got back to Ohio a few hours ago, and I have 100 of 156 pictures uploaded...the rest shoudl finish soon and I'll edit to add a link...

We got Pre-Race Pit passes, and got to see the cars going through inspection and being pushed out on pit road. I was amazed how close you could get to the tools boxes and the tires and everything. There was plenty of security around, but I was still surprised. I bought a few lug nuts from denny's car (they were selling them for $1 to raise money for Charity).

After they kicked us off pit road, I made my way about around the track, over to the Speed Stage to catch the end of Race Day. I got right up next to the stage, and the camera did fly over a few times, so I may have been on TV there. My dad said he thought he saw me, but wasn't sure. I got some good pictures of Jimmy Spencer and John Roberts...unfortuantely, as I was walking to the stage, Kenny Wallace was headed to the driver's meeting on his cart. I was within about 1 ft of him, but didn't have my camera at the ready. Also missed getting ashot of Jeff Green, but managed to catch Mikey (Walktrip), Sterling Marlin and Paul Menard. No Tony :(

The race was a good one for our group. My uncle is Jeff Gordon fan, and my cousin and her husband, Kevin Harvick fans. Along with Tony and Denny, they all lead laps, and all finsihed in the top 10. Tony may not have been happy, and while I would have him prefferd to finish first, #2 isn't so bad. And Bobby had a Top 10. All in all a good night!

Here are the Pictures! (http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2093002257)

I think so too. But he cliams he is fed up with NASCAR and their debris cautions (can't argue with that!). He also says the media thing afterward is requested, but not mandatory. I can understand him not wanting to talk to the media, but I would have felt better if he had congratulated Jeff before he took off (and maybe he did and I couldn't see it)

Amy we missed the show last night  ...did you happen to catch it? What did he have to say?

I only listened to the first hour, then I had to watch House :)

basically what I had in my post above. He was frustrated with NASCAR about all the debris cautions and was afraid if he went to the Media Center he would make an "a$$" out of himself and he has learned when he is that hot about something it is better to not say something that willg et him in trouble later. He was also updet about fans disresepcting Jeff and Jr. by throwing trash out on the track during the voctory lap. I didn't see that, but we were down in Turn 4, and that must have been on the front stretch. He said he was happy for Jeff, happy with the way the car ran and thought it was a good come back after the disaster at Texas. His frustration is with the made up cautions for debris the TV camera can't even find.

Okay, Tony may have gone over the top with the comments about racing being fake like wrestling, but his point is still valid, and people on TV and the radio have been talking about the debris cautions all season. Nascar may have reprimanded Tony, but at they same time, I have to think they are listening. If there was no validitity to the claim, and he was just a hothead making excuses, they wouldn't have reacted.

His appraoch may have been wrong, but I don't disagree with the message. I was sitting in the stands in Phoenix and would look at the lap count and think...it has been about 60 laps since the last caution, and green flag stops are going to start happening...sure enough the caution would come out. There was not a full set of green flag stops in the whole race, and only 2 wrecks.....

 Tony Stewart is right about NASCAR throwing yellows.

Last week, during the race, one of the announcers made a comment like, "If we can find the debris, we'll show it to you."

I thought that was a really odd statement to make, especially on a small track.

I didn't think about it until I read about the fine and I remembered the caution and the comment..

Tony's fine was for skipping the post race interviews, not for his comments. His hour long lecture, at 6am Friday and the delay to his team unloading was due to his comments. He's been invited to watch the next Busch race from the Nascar tower so they can "explain" to him how they call a race. A little brainwashing, perhaps? Ironically, I don't notice very many debris cautions called during Busch races....

But what about the finish today!! So great to see Tony and Bobby as teammates again, even in the Busch series. Reminds me of Tony's early JRG days.

I have to say that I agree about the cautions. What I find funny though is that I have felt this way for a long time and even funnier is the fact that last season they always seemed to favor Tony for the most part. I know there were several races last season that we watched and we would say "Oh look, Tony is in trouble or Tony is about to go a lap down. Watch them throw a caution for debris". Sure enough that is exactly what would happen. Am I the only one that thinks this has been going on for a long time and not something that has just started this season?

I agree Robin, it was a problem last year too. It seems like this year though, it has been more late race cautions. At the beginning of the season it seemed like every race was green/white checker and there was either a debris caution late, that then caused an accident on a restart, or the debris caution put them into a green/white checker.

Hmmm.

There was talk about thrown objects on one of the race shows before Sunday.

I am sorry to see one of the "family sports" taken over by a bunch a morons.
I noticed one almost full can of liquid hit the track.... Then Fox cut away from the coverage. I love the burnouts and the Polish Victory laps....I guess those will soon come to an end eventually...

----------------------------

If NASCAR wanted to send a message to the idiot fans-this will never happen because of the dollars involved, but if enough people were ticked off they would police themselves a little better-close the stands and have a race.

They will never be able to stop it completely, but I suspect that when the masses suffer because of a few, the masses will take a stand.

Guess they need to start making the tracks a can free zone: no beer or soda cans or any other allowed. Only pop in paper cups sold at the track.

Can't do a whole lot of damage with a paper cup unless it gets stuck on the front grill of a car or something like that. :(

Ahhhhhh!!!! I knew this was the place to come to for all the info I could possibly need on this subject. I heard about Dale Jr. leaving DEI and I know part of the story. Unfortunately, inquiring minds need to know the whole scoop. What happened?? Opinions and facts from you educated NASCAR fans please? :D

Lady's Human
05-11-2007, 01:52 PM
To make a long story short?

Dale Jr. wanted controlling interest in the team if he was going to stay as a driver, partly because he was VERY unhappy with the direction the team was going in.

Mommie dearest (Theresa Earnhardt) doesn't want to give up control, so Jr. left. There are rumblings that he may be taking the Eurys with him, as well as possibly Matin Truex Jr.

Daisy and Delilah
05-11-2007, 04:19 PM
The star of the show leaves and takes most of the "assets" with him?? what will step mom do now to keep things lively? Doesn't he room with Truex Jr.? I know hes really good friends with him and the Tony's(actually family-right?).

What is your opinion of Theresa in this LH? I always thought she and Jr. got along great. I'm living in the dark I guess. I read a quote where he said their relationship ain't a bed of roses. Do you think she should have let him have what he wanted or go with the direction she took?

I can't say I have followed the Earnhardt's to have a great insider view as to the relationship between Jr. and Teresa, but it seems to have been strained for sometime. Some fans will tell you the reason Teresa took Tony Eury Jr (Dale Jr's cousin) away as Dale's crew cheif the year before last (when Michael Waltrip was still with DEI) was to show she had the power and becuse she could.

From what I have heard and read, Junior has tried to be very diplomatic about it. He wishes DEI the best, and hopes they have success. He just says his plans are different then what DEI plans are as to how to reach that success.

Personally, I have mixed emoitions. Yes, sooner of later Junior should run his father's company. Was not the right time? I'm not so sure. I think it has been proven to be almost impossible to own and drive for a team and be successful. Ask Michael Waltrip his opinion. Not that you can't do both at the same time, but I think there is more success in driver's who own a team separate from the one they drive for.

That being said, even if Junior wasn't given 51% share, but if Teresa had listened more to his ides over the past feew year, he may not have asked for it right now. So maybe her error is not turning over ownship, but rather not maintaining a good communication with her #1 driver for the past several years.

I "know" (from the media) that Dale and his sister Kelly are very close. Kelly is his manager and runs JR motor sports. Does anyone know how brother Kerry fits in?

Thanks Cincy'sMom.

What a shame that those two can't see eye to eye more. I am really anxious to see how this thing turns out. I have had a feeling something has been bothering Jr. for a long time. Now we know what it is.

To me, Kerry has always seemed like the red headed step child. I've wondered where he fits in for a long time too.

I also have mixed emotions about this. It's Dale Earnhart, Inc. and he is Dale Earnhart Jr. It just doesn't seem to be quite right. Like me, I think alot of people love Jr. and, in the future, Teresa may be sorry to not have him around. Maybe alot more than she does now. :(

Hmmm. DE's car not legal?

---------------------

One thing that I have enjoyed about NASCAR is the that the races are bigger than the paticipants.

The DE story (contract talks) are showing the cutthroat side of the sport.

While announcing Jr is a 'free agent' - never thought I'd hear that term used in NASCAR- is a good thing, announcing it so early in the season should just about end his chances for a Cup.

I can see DEI withholding services, equipment and support for #8..

That really sucks.

From:
http://www.nascar.com/2007/news/headlines/cup/05/15/dearnhardtjr.teuryjr.penalties/index.html

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Dale Earnhardt Jr (http://www.nascar.com/drivers/dps/dearnhar01/cup/index.html). was docked 100 points Tuesday, and his crew chief, Tony Eury Jr., was fined $100,000 and suspended for six races for an illegal part at Darlington Raceway.
The penalty is a significant setback in his team's bid to win a Cup title before racing's most popular driver leaves after the season.

Dale Earnhardt Inc. will appeal, team president Max Siegel said.
"We are not disputing the ruling," Siegel said. "But we are appealing the severity of the penalty because the penalty itself is not spelled out in the rule book."

According to NASCAR, the No. 8 team was found to have violated Sections 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing), 12-4-Q (car, car parts, components and/or equipment used do not conform to NASCAR rules), and 20-3.1.3B (the NASCAR-approved upper and lower rear wing mounting brackets must not be modified to obtain a rear-wing angle of less than zero degrees or more than 16 degrees) of the 2007 NASCAR rule book. ...

NASCAR inspectors said Earnhardt's rear wing was improperly mounted when it was checked Saturday at Darlington. The brackets used to mount the piece were confiscated.
The infraction was the first on the NASCAR-designed Car of Tomorrow, which has strict templates that leave little wiggle room for a crew chief. The severity of the penalty was likely NASCAR's way of informing teams it will not permit any alterations to the COT.

Eury has never had a major infraction during his seven years as a Cup crew chief.

I think NASCAR has gone WAAAAAY too far with the suspension!

First infraction = take the money and give it to a Charity ...
Second Goof-Up = give the guy some time off.

SIX  races off for a first time minor technical foul = not fair to anyone!
NOTE: The now "illegal" brackets WERE used on a test car ... I doubt this
was a case of intentional cheating.

My parents were in the infield (near turn 3, I believe). Was hoping for JJ to get it, but ah well. :)

Nice 3rd place finish for Tony! :D

What an awesome race!!! We had a great time, although I am fried to a crisp! The 30 SPF just didn't quite do it. I'll have to remember that for August.

We had awesome seats!! We were directly in front of Jeff Burton and Tony Stewart's pits on the front stretch. I got a nice video of Carl doing his flip. Hopefully I'll get pictures up soon!

What an exciting Busch race last night....Congratulations to Aric Amorila on his 1st win...I just wish they would have let him stay in the car and let him be around for the party afterward! Some impressive driving by Denny though!!! And Carl too!

I Wish they could have lined those 2 up after the race for a 10 lap shoot out, so we could have seen them battle head to head. They both had awesome cars!

I had to make a stop at a Home Depot and as I was walking up to the entrance there was TS, himself!

I had to laugh because at the front building, near the entrance there are Coke machines. The have different NASCAR drivers pictured and I read that in the southeast states that the machines were being vandalized for the photos.

I guess Cah Lee Fuh Nee AH isn't that into NASCAR!

Richard, I take part of the blame for Tony's poor run. I was not a completely loyal JGR racing fan yesterday....I was actaully excited that Kenny (Wallace) made the race, and was wearing his T-shirt yesterday. And a top 25 was a pretty good run for him!!

For those with Speed, at noon today the are showing the Prelude to The Dream...the dirt track race at Eldroa that Anna, Staci and I went to. It was a great race, and I can't wait to see it again. Lots of NASCAR drivers in a totally different situation.

I have to say that I really enjoyed the race Saturday evening. It was so much fun to watch it with Anna and Mark and to see thier drivers go out early and to be there with them when TS had a melt down...lol. Boy oh Boy...you guys should have heard Anna! She just wouldn't let it go :p . She was mad at Tony but yet she still had to defend him. It didn't help that I kept giving her a hard time ;) :p . What really shocked me was to hear Mark talk bad about Tony. Loved that! I do like Denny so I felt bad for him.

Very very happy to see Jamie win. Congrats Jamie!

We also watched the Eldora race and it was fun to watch Carl win and do his back flip.

I told Ralph after the win at Indy, Tony won't win Pocono, but he'll be back in Victory Lane at the Glen. Sure didn't except it the way it came together, but...

WHO-HOO!!!! JGR goes 1-2!!!!!

On the negative side, Tuesday morning is the office announcement Shrub to JGR :( Would have much rather seen them give JJ one more year, move Aric up, or have just about anyone else in the car.

F-16's should NOT fly over my head on full 'burner.

Helicopters should not fly so low their skids almost hit RV's and the rotorwash wipes out tents.

Happy................thanks for sending a little message to JPM.

Pics sometime tomorrow (including one of Tony coming up through the esses with one wheel about 2-3" off the ground)

It is a sad day in my NASCAR world....Kyle Busch is officaly with JGR, and Kenny Wallace lost his ride at Furniture Row Racing. :(

On a positive note, I saw the first sign of MIS weekend...Jamie McMurry's hauler was parked a local hotel today...only 4 days to MIS (We are only going to the Bush race on Saturday).

CM, it might have had something to do with some off-air comments KW made.......while talking with MRN (off air), he referred to the car as the Furniture Row racing POS Chevrolet.

Very well could be. He was on Sirius Speedway with Dave Moody on my drive home tonight, and I only heard part of it, but he said he was relieved. They have been running so bad, it was so stressful for him, he just was miserable. Moody asked him if he thought a driver change would help and he said he really hoped so. ( I personally don't think he alone is to blame, since this past weekend they had to do engine work to try to qualify and another week he didn't even get to try due to car issues.) He thought the team had a lot of potential, he just hadn't meshed with them, but he wished them the best lof luck and really wants to see them do well. I think he is concnerned about the team trying to run as a single car, and would like to see them join forces with another bigger name to help gain momentum.

I love Kenny. I love his attitude, the way he talks about his family, I just think he is a really great guy, and a decent driver. (If you haven't read his book, Inside Herman's Head, I highly recommend it). He had alot of early success in the Busch series and had a great shot at a championship if not for a crash at New Hampshire. Personally, I don't think he has ever got the oppertunity to have first class equipment in the Nextel Cup series. I hope he finds somewhere else to run, but if not, at least he is around every week on Race Day.

Welcome to PT!

If you have read the thread, you already know my answer...Tony Stewart!!

I am also a fan of Denny Hamlin, Bobby Labonte, Kyle Petty, Kenny Wallace, Kenny Schrader and a few others.

I really don't like the Busch brothers!

I'm not a Carl Edwards fan myself but you and Robin (Robilee) will get along great:)

Like Amy (cincy's mom) I'm a big Stewart fan. I also like Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick & Kasey Kahne just to mention a few.
And I am not a Busch fan either!

Talked to Anna a little while ago. They are on their way home. Looks like the weather isn't going to be any better tomorrow and it seems certain that there won't be a race on Monday. Big Bummer for them :(

They did get to see Denny win on Saturday so that was a good thing.

I wondered what they decided to do, but it has still been raining here non-stop since Saturday night. I can't imainge it is much better 45 minues up the road, and I doubt there is anyway they will get the race in today. Maybe it won't happen tomorrow either, and Anna and Mark will be able to make it back for the next option, Thanksgiving weekend! Maybe need snowmobiles if that happens!!!

We too were at the race on Saturday, and it was so much fun! Denny spent a lot of time battling Matt Kenseth for the lead, but toward the end, pulled away and only a caution was going to let anyone catch him. Go Denny!!!

We met up with Anna and Mark and their friend Chris after the race, and gave thema ride back to their campsite,w here they fixed us a wonderful dinner! Thanks again guys!!!

I don't have a computer at home right now, but when we get it repaired, I'll post pictures.

Monday Morning ... <Pitter ~ Patter>
:(

From NASCAR.com:

"BROOKLYN, Mich. -- Persistent rain has forced NASCAR officials to push back the start of Monday's rain-delayed 3M Performance 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

The noon ET scheduled start has been pushed back, according to a release issued by the speedway Monday morning. NASCAR and track officials will meet at 11:30 a.m. ET to discuss options and provide another update, though they are hopeful that a window of opportunity opens to get the race under way."

Anna and Mark should be at the race track now or at least pretty close. Let's do the sunshine dance for them!

Careful Robin, Once you Go Tony! It is hard to do anything else!!!

Have fun Anna and Mark!! No rain in Toledo this morning...hope it is the same up north!

My MP3 battery is dead and so is our comptuer at home so I can't even recharge it! My desk radio doesn't have enough antenna to get the station the race is on, so I may have to take back my old one that another lab is using. At least I have Trackpass on the computer at work, but of course, no speakers!! I may time lunch for the last 20 laps or so....

Happy Race day! (FINALLY!)

NUTZ! :(

NO Race coverage on the Radio - talking heads are yappin away.

Race got off to a **shakey** start >>>

8:44 a.m. -- It's Tuesday and everyone is hoping to see some racing today. The good news is currently it is not raining at MIS, the bad news, the track is still really wet. It could take a while to get the track dry but here's hoping the green will fly at 10 a.m. as scheduled.

9:27 a.m. -- The green flag has been moved up from 10:13 a.m. ET to 10:08 a.m. ET. There will be a competition caution at Lap 25 to allow teams to make adjustments. Teams can not take fuel before the Lap 25 caution.

10:01 a.m. -- Army Sergeant Michelle Huerth delivers the command we've all been waiting for: "Gentlemen, start your engines!"
10:08 a.m. -- The cars are off pit road and making their pace laps.

10:09 a.m. -- The race will start under yellow to help dry the track and keep the speeds down.

10:10 a.m. -- Jeff Burton, Martin Truex Jr., Jamie McMurray and Dale Earnhardt Jr. will move to the rear of the field after making changes to their cars.

10:14 a.m. -- GREEN/YELLOW FLAG: The race is under way and under caution. Jeff Gordon will lead the first lap and earn the five bonus points

Lap 11 -- RED FLAG:  The cars are hitting pit road as the spotters and NASCAR officials can't see the whole track due to fog. Teams are not allowed to work on the cars and the drivers will remain behind the wheel.

10:40 a.m. -- Drivers are exiting from their cars and the delay looks like it is going to be a while.

10:53 a.m. -- The drivers are getting back in their cars and are getting ready to hit the track again.

Lap 11 -- YELLOW FLAG: The engines have been fired back up and the cars are back on the track. Competition caution has been moved to Lap 30.

Lap 12 -- The drivers have received the one to go.

Lap 13 -- GREEN FLAG: Jeff Gordon brings the field to speed and the 3M Performance 400 is finally under way.

Lap 14 -- LEAD CHANGE: Greg Biffle had a great restart and passed Jeff Gordon for the lead.

Lap 40+ - - Green Flag ...

Couldn't tell on the computer if anyone really smacked...Biffle got loose and spun. Not sure if it was a tire or if he had help.

Just talked to my co-worker who was at the race. He said they barely cared if you even had a ticket and told them to sit where ever! Thanks for calling me and telling me to come up!!! Oh yeah, I didn't think that, he says!

maybe Anna and Mark were able to improve their seats! Looking forward to hearing how they enjoyed the race.

We made history
First ever racing after a rain delay on Tuesday.

Come hell or high water we were going to make it to the race.

After only 4 hrs of sleep we got up and headed to MI. Little did we know there would be flooding on I-75. We almost floated our way to the race

We enjoyed our seats and had a great view of the whole track, even with the fog we could see pretty good so we just stayed where we were.
Got some good pictures after the fog cleared. I'll post the link when I get them uploaded.

Too bad Denny or Tony didn't win, but we'll take what we can get.

It was an interesting weekend to say the least :o
