I Recieved this in email from the Dobie rescue I work with. We are just over the river literally from St. Louis.
> Some of you may know that in several states in Europe Corgis have been
> declared a dangerous breed. This means among other things that the dog may
> not leave the home unless it is on a lead and wears a muzzle. And it is not
> just Corgis. It is actually most breeds, even the gentle Neuffies. Breed
> Specific Legislation (BSL) is sweeping across the United States. And this
is
> just the beginning. Bully breeds are an easy target because most people
know
> nothing abut the breed other than what they see on television or read in
the
> paper. Actually it is a wonderful intelligent breed - think about Petey on
> the Little Rascals - that is getting a terrible reputation thanks to bad
> owners and the media. Most important, It IS NOT the number one biting dog
in
> Missouri or other states. Banning one breed is just the beginning. The
only
> way that this is going to be stopped in Missouri is by the dog owning
voting
> citizens. *Please call your state legislators office! *It is simple. Call,
> leave a message if necessary. State you name, what area that you live in,
> and ask him/her to vote against HB 226. If a legislator gets just 10-12
> calls from their area, they will pay attention! And please send this along
> to your email lists! If you do not know who your State Representative
> is, go to www.maal.org and type in your zip code. It takes only a few
> minutes to make the call. We do not need more regulation!
