Monday the kittens went in for their last Distemper and Leukemia vaccinations, we're going to wait a few weeks for the Rabies vaccination since they are so small. Boss said earmites are gone, but to keep cleaning out their ears because of leftover debris and wax that is still coming out. Kittens don't like it, or the nail trims, but they tolerate it pretty well.
The bottle babies are 12 weeks old now. Hard to believe I've had them here for 10 weeks already. Boy they sure have grown. Sabrina weighs 3 1/2 lbs, Josh weighs 3 1/4 lbs, and Sassy weighs 2 3/4 lbs. It's difficult to believe that at one time none of them even weighed 1/2 pound!
So far only 2 people have contacted me interested in only the girls (poor Josh), but both have backed out (not that I really mind, lol).
Sassy & Sabrina know how to 'chatter' now. You know that noise they make when they can't get a toy that's out of their reach? lol Josh just makes his usual 'play noise', which sorta sounds like a garbled purr/meow combo.
They pretty much get along good with all the cats, Jack sometimes gets grouchy, but only when they run over his tail or surround him.
It's getting harder to keep the kittens in 'their room' since they now know there's a whole house to run in. I can't just let them out full time yet because they still chew on wires some, and get into the darndest places! Plus supervising 3 cats at one time loose in a house this big is rather difficult. I try to either keep them in one area of the house at a time, or just let one out at a time with free roam for awhile. Unfortunately if I get just one out he/she will cry looking for their littermates and don't play as much! awwwwww Even hubby is getting suckered when they cry for each other, maybe he'll cave in and let me keep them?? *crosses fingers*
They don't seem to want much for wet food anymore, and eat mostly crunchies. I did try a few new things recently though....
TREATS: yay, they're old enough for treats now. I got some just for them that are soft (my regular cats only eat crunchy treats). First night I took treats up to them, I broke them in half and set them on the floor in front of each kitten. They were scared of them at first!! HAHAHA But good ol' Josh the pigglet started sniffing and immediately realized it was FOOD and plowed right over to gobble his down. Once Sassy seen he was eating then she daintily ate hers. Poor Sabrina never did quite figure out how to eat them so Josh & Sassy finished hers. The next night however all 3 knew what the bag meant already and ran right over to gobble up their treats, Sabrina included!
CAT GRASS: I got some cat grass already grown in a pot from the pet store, one pot for the big cats and one for the kittens. I didn't stop to think about the cat grass being taller than the kittens were!! It just towered over them! lol At first they were afraid of it also, but soon came over to sample it. Sassy & Sabrina figured it out first. Josh tried wrapping a paw over the whole thing and just tugging on the blades, but couldn't get them pulled out or chewed off. So what did the little bugger butt do? He just sat up on his hind legs and smacked the heck outta the poor grass! ROFL He seems to find it more fun to whack the grass than chew on it!
FOR ALL YOU JOSH LOVERS OUT THERE.....
Josh is a big ham and poses more often for pix than the girls do, plus my autofocus works better with his color, so there are waaaay more Josh pix in this update than usual. Plus I just love that little question mark thing he does with his tail!! lol
