The school I work at, Denver Academy, is a charter school and doesn't let out until Friday (then we have the first week in January off). However, today was our very first snow day!!!!!! I'm happy- I can get so much done today, and it's unlikely that we will have school tomorrow- the last day.

Remember when you were a kid, and you didn't ever think about your teachers being happy on snow days?

Well, they are- just as happy as the kids! ;)

Hehe - must be nice. But at the end of the year, don't you need to make up the snow days?

We never get snow days in Canada - but that's because we can handle it! ;)

That's the one problem with working at home--although my company's office in Colorado Springs is closed today, I still have to work. But at least I didn't have to venture out into the blizzard during my "commute." :)

I do remember the school closed one day when it got so cold that the water pipes froze and exploded causing lots of damage.

Were on the other side of the mountain. Its been snowing here but nothing like your getting. I really wish we were getting the blizzard also. My son lives in Aurora but works in Greeley. He called to tell me it took him 3 hours to get to work. I pray he makes it home ok. My sister in law works in Black Hawk they aren't running the buses up there today. You be careful, stay home and keep warm. :)

Wow, I just saw coverage of the snow & blizzard conditions going on
near Denver. Interstate 70 is closed. Hope you don't have to go out
in this weather & can stay home & enjoy the view out the window. :)

Gee Whiz!!!

I've been so darned busy, and I haven't had time to catch the news, nor the Weather!!!

You guys are getting one mean White Christmas from the looks of those pictures~

I just want one gentle snowfall, that's all! ;)

It doesn't look like we're going to have a White Christmas though :(

Yep, thats what it looked like here earlier. I bet your view will look much different tomorrow. I just let the dogs outside for one last potty break tonight and it's hard to open the screen door- there is snow drifted all around it. The snow is higher than the corgis!

I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them. What a ton of snow!

It's still snowing! You can't tell in the pictures though- I didn't feel like leaving the house so these are all from windows...there is over a foot at least out there but it's hard to tell exactly how much because of all the drifting:

This structure is over 4' high...

That is sooooooo awesome!!! I am crying right now. I went out without my jacket today. It's going to be in the upper 40's - a practical heat wave for this time of year. I don't think I'll ever be able to use my new snowshoes. You are soooo lucky!! Those pictures are beautiful. I love how the corgies make their way through the snow. They're so cute. Please post more pictures. As much as it's killing me to see them, they really are beautiful.

Nothing like a good snow fall/blizzard to slow the world down and makes the dulls of winter disappear. I remember one year, we had such a bad blizzard, the drifts went over the fence- my mothers dogs ran right over it to the front yard.. lol.. She reported my dad had to walk the fence to crush the snow down to prevent a repeat performance on the dogs part..
Here are some pictures of our blizzard last year. We got 18 inches with 3-5 foot drifts.

Same view as I posted yesterday. Same cars still parked out front--they'll be there awhile.

I saw someone walking down the middle of the street in snowshoes a little while ago. :D

This picture is so funny. :) You'd better tie some tall hats onto the pups
or you'll lose them in all that snow. :D Reminds me of my neighbors with
three little Poms. If we get a lot of snow, they come out & shovel a path
around the backyard for them. :D

Eric and I are snowed in for the day- no buses are even running! We watched about 4 movies yesterday, and today we will probably do the same. Thank god the internet or power didn't go out! ;)

That is just amazing!! WOW!! I can't even imagine what it would be like to have snow like that. The dogs seem to be coping just fine with it. Daisy and Delilah would get lost ;)

borzoimom that was a funny video lol
Silly pooch lol

About 5yrs ago We had about 4' of fluffy snow in our back yard (4' of snow is nothing..). I put Max's(RB) booties & coat on & put my gear on, to go play in the snow with Max. Max dove into the snow & was GONE! I called him & He stood on his hind legs to see me... Then I jumped in & was covered up in snow. I stood up & all I could see was Max's whole body pop out of the snow & dissapear again, over & over lol... OMG he was having a blast!! I loved to hide in the snow & then call him.. He would come charging through the snow & try to dig me out hehehe

Oh the fun we had.

We don't even have any snow here :(
