Me and louis going for a bareback ride :D

I have pictures of Midnight somewhere..I'll post if I find them. He was such a beauty. He was midnight black, of course, and the best jumper I'd ever been on! We flew over jumps! Fun stuff :D

Zippy: They're beautiful! How did you fall? I fell off twice on Dino. The 1st time he was galloping and threw me into the wall, and my back hit the ledge (it HURT!) the second time he just jumped away from the wall quick and I fell..it was kinda fun but I hurt my arm :X lol. When I rode midnight, he bucked a few times, and I somehow stayed on..my instructor said he was suprized I did..I guess I was determined not to fall..I'm a chicken! lol

Cadillac is one you have to use LOTS of leg on--he was trying to cut across the arena and I was tryin' to keep him going straight (this was at a canter)---welll, he turned the corner and I didn't  lol

He really is a good horse to ride bareback on--NO WITHERS!! lol It's like riding a lazy boy recliner. COMFORTABLE!!

Mortimer on the other hand has fairly high withers but is a good ol' boy-- man I love that guy! lol He's 25yrs old but still has the spunk of a youngin'!! A FUN FUN FUN ride!!

WELL, just LOOK at those pictures..I didn't post the one of him glaring..He's always looking evil. You go in his stall to tack up and his ears go back and he glares at you. He's also very lazy, very stuborn, and..well, just evil. He trys to bite the other horses that try to pass his, and when you want to go fast, he goes slow, you want to go slow and he goes fast! He's a sweety though, after all that :D

Where do you guys find places to go riding? I live in Georgia and I have NEVER found any stables that will let you ride. I want to take the hubby for his first time but I can't find anywhere to go, any advice on finding a place?

Sara, try looking in the yellow pages under "horse rentals" or horse breeders/ranches that type of thing. Unfortunately, the ones listed under 'horse rentals' might have pretty poor conditions for the horses. You might "nose around" before you decide on a company to rent from. Good luck & let us know how it goes!!

Yeah, I see it on TV a lot, its a great place. I'm not so sure I remember gail greennoughs no..I haven't been watching for a long time, before I started riding, I'd just watch to see the beautiful horses! lol. I think my fav horse was Big Ben..and one of my fav riders is Ian Millar. Have you ever met him while working there?

met him???i worked for ian at the 76 games at bromont!!! we had him with the horse called "countdown"...big blk. thoroughbred...we also had Branch County...a little chestnut that with michelle vaillancourt won the individual silver there.....
i worked with pierre joliceur for many years...michelles and ians' groundman....
ben was a great horse....i remember when he was a prelim.. horse in arizona in 82...great heart that animal....but ian is a master...nobody rides and thinks like that man....he just doesn't miss...he is so calculating!!!true genius!!!!!
i remember when we went indoors in the fall...when we got to toronto...there would be hoof prints painted in the aisles leading to bens' stall so all the kids could go visit him.....what a great horse!!!!
i also bought the great "Killer Tom" in canada from Mac Cone...greatest hunter that ever came out of canada...CH. at toronto, wash. and n.y......
gail rode Mr. T to win the world championship in 1986...he was just a little thing...maybe 16.1 on agood day...but what a heart....they put him down a couple of years later...feet couldn't take it...he had rotated....what a shame

oh don't get me started...i had so many good years in that industry......
i now live right near wellington...thats' where everybody shows during the winter....they might move the garden here in nov....so i get to see all of my old friends when they are down here...michelle,pierre,ian...all come here each year
