Just returned from the vet's, and they are handing out a Holiday Hazards sheet to everyone. I thought this might be a good reminder for all.

Chocolate (especially dark or bakers chocolate)
Macadamia nuts
Grapes or Raisins
Cocoa beans
Tea / Soda
Xylitol (calorie-free sweetener sometimes used in sugar free products)
Propylene glycol

Tinsel (common cause of potentially fatal intestinal damage)
Plastic wrap
Ribbons
Candy wrappers
Aluminum foil
Mistletoe and Holly
Poinsetties can cause vomiting /diarrhea
Lillies can be fatal

I'm planning to replace an artificial tree that Zerlina tried to eat :p with one of the small rosemary bushes sold around here as tabletop Christmas "trees." (I've noticed that the more commonly used kitchen herbs are NOT on lists of things harmful to kitties.) :)

A good reminder as we should keep in mind that our Cats are not always the best judge of what to eat.
And maybe to have your Guests try and make sure that they dont let Your Cats out.
I hate that when they start a conversation just as they are leaving and stand there with the door wide open.

Rosemary must be OK because I have seen it in cat food.
