Meet Raven, my new baby girl. I adopted her today at the humane society. I had been contemplating the idea of adopting a pup early next spring, but couldn't resist looking at the local humane society's pups up for adoption. I gave in and went to look at another pup, but just didn't feel the connection with him that I had thought I might. Instead I fell for this sweet little girl. She's a black lab mix, possibly with ACD but they don't know for sure and it's hard to tell yet. I believe she'll be a medium size girl around Tasha's height but probably bulkier. Tasha has taken right to her, but Tommy is not so sure. He just avoids her and isn't too happy but hopefully he'll warm up. Anyway... on to some more pics and a little video :).

Ahh puppy fever. I've been having it for the last 3 years! I kept dreaming I was at the shelter, looking at the dogs, finding the right one. Finally I thought about it more and a couple weeks ago decided that in March or so, I'd start looking. But something compelled me to look at the Humane Society page today. The more I thought about it, the more driven I felt that I needed to go look. The rest is history. She won me over immediately.

My jaw dropped when I read this thread. I had NO clue you were looking for another! :D She is absolutely precious. I love her name.. it fits her black coat so well. What a good girl Tasha is! I am sure Tommy will warm up to her, it took Simba about a week with Moo. ;)

Thank you all so very much for your happiness and excitement for me! And wow Devon Cole does remind me of her, what a handsome dog!

Yeah she has me running back and forth but overall she's been a very good girl :D. She doesn't budge all night, sleeps snuggled up against me. I haven't had to get up at night to take her out at all. She is 3 months old so I had the bonus of another month on her as compared to when I got Tasha as a puppy, so she can hold her bladder longer. I also take up water at about 7 at night.

She's very curious and friendly, rarely makes a sound I have not heard a bark out of her. She seems very intelligent and eager to learn. Her first vet check is tomorrow morning.

Tommy is less anxious about her but still doesn't have anything to do with her. He just kind of ignores her for now or will get up and move if she gets in his face. But he's more relaxed than he was on her first day home so I hope he will warm up to her more with time. She and Tasha get along wonderfully and they love to run together outside.

Anyway, I haven't had much time to get more pictures but I got this one last night :D

I love her ears too! I know I'm a bit crazy with the pics right now but I had to share these. Their bed is right behind my chair where I work all day and they finally all laid close together. Today is the first day Tommy hasn't left the room when she tried to get close to him, so I think that's a good sign!

Her first vet visit went pretty well and afterwards I took her to Petsmart to meet people and get some exposure. Once she got over her initial nervousness she was a social butterfly. She met a pug puppy and got all kinds of attention from people and treats at the register :D. She does well in the car so far, she's curious and watches the surroundings. She's already quite a bit more outgoing than Tasha was as a puppy.

The vet felt she may be a lab/pittie mix. Her said her body looks lab but her ears and face strike him as pittie. He says it can be hard to tell when they are babies but that's his impression right now. He thought she behaved like a very intelligent and pleasant puppy. He said he could also see she already loves me to death. :D

This picture is one of the best for showing how her face looks. I feel it's possible she could have pittie in her but who knows :)

It's interesting that the Vet thought Raven a Lab/Pittie mix. I thought,
in this picture especially, I could see Chow. In the head & jaw lines. It's
probably just the angle in this picture. I try to guess my two pupsters
mix of breeds sometimes myself. What ever she is, she's a real cutie. :)

I'd agree here. Nikka is a chow/pointer and her head is definately bulkier.
