I think I want one, but I don't know anything about them except that they are SO CUTE! Can you all find some good informational hedgehog sites for me to help me out? I don't have a lot of time on the computer these days with tutoring, driver's ed., and babysitting. It will be appreciated. Thanks guys/gals!

Most of the hedgehogs that are pets aren't the ones native to the UK, they're African Pygmy Hedgehogs. Would that be okay as a pet in the UK?

To be honest Karen, I have never ever heard of anyone who has a hedgehog as a pet. I'm not to sure about the breed you have mentioned either, but as far as I know it is illegal as they are classed as a wild animal and a protected species, same as badgers etc.
I shall have to find that one out.

In the U.K. it appears that African Pigmy hedgehogs are allowed as pets:
European hedgehogs are partially protected in the U.K. Trapping them requires permission from the proper authorities. However, African hedgehogs are commercially available.

They certainly are cute little snots!!! I would fear for one's life in our house though! Vonney doesn't like anything smaller than he is that isn't canine.
