Ok so her she is. The green eyed black beauty. More social now than when we got her the end of March but still a nawtee girl when she wants to be. As some of you know we took Phoenix from ENPA. It's the national aminal rescue and wildlife organization here. She was severly abused by her former owner. She has scars on her lip, and face and even inside the mouth on the exterior gums. She was kicked in the face and sever damage was done. I guess we know why she is not too keen on people huh? She is a different cat now though after almost 8 months with us. She is extremely spoiled and destroys one feather teaser a week. It's her favorite toy along with the catnip mice and balls that Gary sent to us while we were in Canada. Every morning she has a round with either one of the mice of the balls. She will allow you now to pick her up and she likes kisses but not always. On her terms...if she is pissy then she wants to be left alone and usually when she is having a deep sleep she doesn't like to be bothered but other than that she pretty much ok with being held and kissed. Her and Vixen have a romp 2-3 times a day. In the morning and at night like religion but sometimes they decide they want to romp during the day too. :) She is right now sat on the desk next to me watchihng what I am doing and purring away. :) Enough blabbing from me here is the green eyed black beauty....PHOENIX !!!

Bless you for helping her recover from her awful former owners. I can't imagine why anyone would hurt such a beautiful creature. :(

Dear sweet, beautiful Phoenix, I had LES reading about the abuse that you suffered from the monsters that first had you. Thank goodness you were adopted into a wonderful home, where you will never ever suffer from abuse again. You will live out your life surrounded by love and your needs will be tenderly taken care of.

A great big meow from Phoenix for all the complements. She loves hearing how beautiful she is. :) must be her italian ego. :p Hubby would kill me if he heard that. LOL And thank you all for the lovely comments. I can't understand either how someone could do things like this to an animal. And to think there are others out there that suffer similar atrocities and much worse really makes me angry and sad. I just don't get it...it really takes a sick individual to do these things to them and not even bat an eyelash about it or feel sorry for the injury and pain they have caused. Very sad.

But Phoenix was a lucky one she knew a good think when she seen it and gladly snatched it right up and now she is sooo spoiled she even turns her little nose up and certain flavors of foods. hehehe and this was a kitty that only ever ate dry food and not very good stuff at that. AHHHHH...the life of a spoiled pampered princess.

I have a Little Black Cat that I am trying to adopt, Tubster.
The only thing is that the Welfare Drunks let thier Dog loose and he chased Tubster away.
I put ham out last night, and he was back.
Phoenix is so beautiful, and completely bellisimo!!
We hope that the Found Cat Toys arrive soon!!
We would love to see Vixen and Phoenix having FUN!!!

It is so touching to see a sad story with a happy ending. Phoenix is now safe from harm and will never have to go through anything horrible again.
Those people should be locked up and they should throw away the key as far as I'm concerned.
Phoenix is so elegant, she's a star.
