View Full Version : The not so big move. :D

I did it! I am now somewhat settled into my new apartment. I'm still shocked that I have a place of my own.

Despite the threat of rain and thunderstorms, we had a dry move from my parents. Although the humidity was killer. :p

Three trips were needed to get all my stuff moved. Kia was the last to go and I walked her around the complex and she sniffed everything that could be sniffed, while Andy finished unloading the last car load.

First off I have to say my parents are thrilled with the choice I made. Which is a good feeling I must say.

And I think Kia loves it too. We took her for a walk downtown to get her used to the area. She especially loves to walk by the one screen movie theater in town and beg people for popcorn. :D

Andy stayed the night and is home with her right now helping her get adjusted and helping me by cleaning up our 'moving mess' and putting together things like my art desk and window blinds.

Tonight we put up shelves. :)

I was afraid it'd be a cramped apartment but we have quite a bit of space!

I just know we'll be very happy here.

Haven't met any of the neighbors. I have what looks like college guys living above me and an apartment full of kids on the first floor a few doors down.

:)

It's such a small town and Kia stands out so much with her eyes.... who knows.... people just may know us by name before the years over. :D

Congrats on your move Kimmy! I'm thrilled to hear it went so smoothly. And quickly!

I don't think Kia misses the cats AT ALL!!!!!!! ;) :D

What a great guy Andy is too! I need one of those!

Congrats on the move! I know that you feelmuch better being out on your own and having your own space. I am sure Kia will become infamous by the time everyone meets her.

Congrats Kimmy!! How does it feel to be out on your own? Andy does sound like a good guy...just like my Mike!

Jen...Mike has a single friend that fixes cars and helps people move!! Want me to talk to him?? I think you'd have to move though, his mother who is kind of an invalid is living with him.

I just want you to know that I have set 4 different couples up and all 4 got married (one couple has 6 kids!). I think I missed my calling in life! lol

Kimmy, you must keep us up to date on getting your apartment set up. I HATE doing that. The next move we make (hopefully soon with the lousy neighbor we have) will hopefully be the last.

I told Jenni I could hook her up with some of Andrew's officer buddies but she never replied. :(

That would be great! I would love to see pictures!
Speaking of pictures, I need to take some of Drake after his summer shave. Andrew and I did it almost 2 weekends ago.

Jen, the door is always open...literally...we don't lock the doors anymore....who would be stupid enough to come in our house?? lol:eek: :p

That invite goes to everyone on PT.

Geez Souraya, I don't understand that!! I LOVE men in uniform!!! Mike was in the Army for 5 years long before I knew him, but he was enlisted not officer. I say the best uniform is the Marines' dress blues...woohoo!!

Molly, I have never been one to fall for a man in uniform. Until of course I saw Andrew :D :D

I gotta tell you Souraya, when I was in 8th grade and my brother-in-law got commissioned into the Marines, he took my sister and I to the Evening Parade in D.C. and I got to have a Marine in full dress blues escort me up to my seat, I thought I had died and gone to heaven! lol I would never be able to be a military wife though...I would hate the separations too much.
