I like to paint unfinished ceramics. I painted one up over the weekend. I think I am going to give it to my grandparents for christmas. I have no idea what else to get them. At their age they already have everything lol. I thought this would be nice to give them. The pictures don't show it really well but they are so cute.

I don't know if you can see it or not but I love the rosy cheeks I get the snow men LOL.

WOW, great job! I don't have the steady hand to do something like that! They look just as good as if you bought them already painted! ;)

Thanks everyone. When I bought it it didn't even cross my mind to send them as a present but then I got to thinking about my grandparents and their gift. I thought this would be much more appreciated than some generic gift... that they probably already have LOL They have everything.
I am disappointed though. It is getting harder and harder to find unpainted ceramics in the stores. I want to AC Moore. They didn't have any AND they were very rude. So I went to Michaels and they had some but other than christmas ones they don't really carry anything other ceramics. I hope I can find a place that sells them.
Thanks again everyone

Very nice sparks, there are places around here where you can go make your pottery and paint it there.

How cute!!!
I used to own a ceramics shop and snowpeople were some of the most popular items. You did a beautiful job. I'm sure your grandparents will love it.
Do you have a light for the inside of it? :D
Gosh, I wish I had known you like to paint unfinished ceramics. When I moved in February, I gave away about 10 boxes of unfinished stuff because I don't have room for it any more.

You did a very nice job. I worked for one of the large hobby ceramic supply manufacturers(Mayco) for years, I did all the projects used for advertising. I loved that job - like going to kindergarten every day!
PM me if you like, I need to go through boxes of bisque I've had stored, I may have some Christmas things to send you.

Gini that is a wonderful site. thank you for the link :D
Cyber Sibes I will PM you right away.
This is a hobby I have had since I was about 13 and over the years it has become increasingly difficult to find nice pieces to paint. LOL I just love to be covered in paint on my hands by the time I am done LOL I look like a "work of art" myself lol.
thanks again everyone.
