Just thought I'd let you know.

Little rottie girl Emma, one of my parents' dogs, is 6 months old now, and it looks like she's getting into heat. Rocky, the 12 year old rottie boy, has recently discovered she's a girl, and - let me put it like this... :o he's showing a lot of interest in her now.

Hard to believe that she looked like this only 4 months ago:

And now she's a young lady:

Her surgery is scheduled for November 9, and my mother is already nervous about it. Poor little girl!!

I'll keep you updated!

If she is coming into heat- I would not spay her. What did the vet say?? Is she in heat or not?

When they set up the date for the surgery, she wasn't in heat. It looks to us that she's coming into her first heat now as Rocky is VERY interested in her rear end... If she's not in heat yet, I figure it won't take long.

My mother will ask her vet about it.

Well he could be checking her for other reasons. Maybe anal glands etc.. I am sure the vet will check it out..

They grow up so fast! :D
She's still as gorgeous as ever, and my thoughts are sent to her to have a good, successful surgery! I'm sure she'll do fine. =)

Yes, she did grow up fast. But I have to tell you she is still on of the cutest Rotties I have ever seen. I just love that face. I am sure she will do fine with her surgery, but I can understand your mother being worried about her "baby." I will definitely be sending out good thoughts on the ninth.

Both Rocky & Emma are beautiful Rottweilers. Glad your mother has decided to spay Emma- good choice. I'm sure everything will go just fine. We really need to make an appointment for Rita's spay.

Hope everything goes well for Emma. Keep an eye on her cause the first sign of heat you will not want to spay her. She will have excess blood around her uterus area which makes it very dangerous to have the spay surgery done. My vet will not spay a dog in heat for he doesnt want to see the dog bleed to death on the table. Keep a good eye on her. She's so beautiful I would hate to have something go wrong for her.
