Videos will be made into a little production.
This was a little thing that my barn's been putting on for a few years I guess. (I moved there less than a year ago) All the kids who take lessons there on the lesson horses or on their own horses get to participate. We had a some fun classes and relays and a costume class. I'll give a summary of the day with the pics.

First class I did was the Ride a Buck- Walk, trot, canter. They put a $1 bill between our calf and the horse and whoever had the buck longest won. I was unlucky either way because they put the buck on our left side, and my left ankle won't flex as well which leads to not as strong grip. If we did the other side we'd be tracking left, which Solo won't flex on. I after just posting and sitting trot I couldin't see my buck so I stoped and turned in to the middle. I really was shocked I lost it that soon! Almost 1/2 the people had the buck stuck in the saddle, including the 2nd place winner. At the end I dismounted and lead Solo into the isle for the next rider. I went to run up my stirrups and my buck was stuck there under the leathers!  The head trainer felt so bad and insists on giving me a second place prize even though I keep refusing. The next class I was in was theAdvanced Barn Bum Triathalon- Move-in-if-I-Could Type
We had a poop scooping contest, and I only got 70% of the poop.
Second we took apart a bridle all the way and were blindfolded with polo wraps and had to race to put them back together. I got the bit all attached but then I got really confused. I was 3rd but since mine was so messed up I was 4th in that. It was really fun and everyone was laughing really hard. Last was to hand walk a horse and then put their feet in a tub to "soak" and put on pillow wraps then hand walk them again. I lost that too but it was fun.

Next was the Costume Class
I thought some other people would be riding Solo in it too so I didn't to what I wanted. He was going to be the Graffiti Pony. I was going to "graffiti" him with that temporary hair color spray and some Twinkle horse Glitter, and I'd wear a big hoodie and carry a small battery opperated CD player w/ speakers and play hood music. I bet that would have won but his costume was alright this year anyway. I hadmade him a court jester costume and I was wearing a purple velvet cape and a crown to be the queen he was entertaining with his antics.

There were so many good costumes, including the Energizer Bunny lead by two batteries, Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West lead by Glinda the Good Witch of the North, A bride and groom (both geldings :D :o )lead by the flower girl and ring bearer, Elvis and his adoring fans, and my friend as a farmer leading her "cow" (tricolor paint) My camera was out of memory and I didn't have time to go through and see what could be deleted so I only took this picture

The last thing I was in was the Haunted Obsticle Course

We plowed through the narrow weaving cones, trotted over the small bounce with spider fabric in between, picked up a jack-o-lantern bucket on a devil's septor, walked over a > shapped thing that all the horses knocked over, and with the bucket on the septor, trotted through 3 bounces and a one stride, then cape over and dumped the bucket into either a bucket for 1 point, and smaller bucket for 2, or a small terracotta thing for 3 (which I did!) and for extra credit we could try and make our horse walk through a spider made of trash bads filled with leaves, but they all spooked but one pony. Solo and I lost by a lot in that but who cares anyway!?
It was like pony day there, I learned the names of all the CUTE ponies that look so good in pastels! Here is one, CJ (Cracker Jack)

Great pictures! Sounds fun, we usually have an anual thing like that at our barn too. :)

hahah, you're lucky you get to play ride-a-buck with a saddle on- we always have to do it bareback, and it's a lot harder to hold on to that dollar! :o

wow...my riding instructor just made us do that...lots of Kudos to you...I could only keep it under my calf for like 2 minutes...now...things like egg toss and stuff like that that we play at the barn I ride at...im okay with...and racing with eggs on a spoon too...but that ride a buck game is hard :P

I think the egg and spoon is the hardest! The ride a buck isn't that hard for me because If I take my calf off the horse anyway he misbehaves so I'm used to it.
