View Full Version : Is this normal kitten behavior?

I've noticed when the food gets low in the bowls that the kittens, Moxie in particular, will begin pushing the other kittens out and if they don't move she will latch on to their head with her claws and teeth. Then today they are not feeling well after their first shot yesterday so Moxie and Twinks were in my lap and started trying to nurse on my hand when they started it again. Twinks was the first to latch on and after I got them apart a little later Moxie was the one to latch on viciously to Twinks until she cried.

Is this typical of kittens or do they have food/nursing type aggression? If I were to keep one I certainly do not need add an aggressive cat to my gang. Like I said it just seems to happen with eating food or nursing on my hand. Richard is concerned that Moxie is too possesive with food and me.

Oh that is so good to know Kim. Thank you. Pops is the only one who doesn't do it but he makes up for it during play time. The girls try to tag team him and he still wins. He's all boy and 100% serious play kitty!

WAAAH! I don't want to give them up!!!!

I know how hard it is .... I go through the same thing. Some times a good "concession" is to be able to hold on to just one! Of course even one after many litters can add up! ;)

Give them a little more time to see that there will be plenty of love and food for everyone.. This is all new to them and they are learning about life as they go along...

I THINK THAT THERES ALWAYS ONE KITTEN WHO IS A LITTLE BIGGER, MORE MATURE THAN HIS LITTERMATES, AND THATS WHY MOXIE MAY BE COMING ACROSS AS AGRESSIVE.
HES JUST A LITTLE HUNGRIER.

AND IT EVEN HAPPENS WITH CATS WHO LOVE EACH OTHER, PLEASE SEE EXAMPLE WHEN THE HOTEL SERVES FANCY FEAST FOR LUNCHEON.
