They say the fact that the Tiger's even got this far has really boosted morale in Michigan. It's been rough with GM closing down. (My dad's plant just closed :( )

I never watched baseball in my life, until I started watching Cards games with my hubby (huge baseball fan) My son won baseball tickets for his straight A's in school, so we went to a couple of games back during McGuire's hitting streak. I got to see Mark Mcguire hit one into the "Big Mac" section - everyone in the stadium got a free Big Mac! I look forward to watching them, gonna be a great series, whoever wins!

Sports fans will laugh at this, but I never pick a team. I pick a player. I pick a guy with a "funny" name and whatever team he's on, is who I want to win. By funny, I mean different or unique. For many years, any team that "Kirby Puckett" was on -- was my team. :p

Guess I better start looking at the player's names.
The only baseball we watch in the house is the World Series.

BTW ~ Why is it called the World Series when only teams from US and Canada can play? :confused:

May I suggest the Cardinals short stop, "Yadier Molina" - that's different! (It's fun to say, too ;) ) And in case you missed it, he scored the two runs that won the last game over the Mets that got the Cards into the World Series! :D

Last time Detroit & St. Louis met in the World Series was 1968. I listened to the radio with great interest because Portlander Mickey Lolich was a pitcher for Detroit. He pitched and won THREE of the four games Detroit needed to win the World Series. MVP

I would vote for the Altana Braves but they are not in it. So i'll go for the Cardinals

Alrighty! I'm rooting for the Cardinals. But, not because of Yadier Molina. "My" guy is Braden LaVern Looper. Now THAT is a funny name. (I usually don't go for more "ethnic" names because I wouldn't want people to think I was making fun of them.) But, evidently LaVern Looper's parents had a sense of humor...... :p

I voted Tigers, but mostly I am hoping for a good series. I don't watch too much baseball, but I have one friend who is a huge Cards fan, and one who is a huge Tigers fan. SHould be fun!!!

I don't know anything about this, but I voted for the Cardinals :D
Why??? He he, we lived in St.Louis from 1983 till 1985, and the Cardinals also were in the finals then!!! Cannot remember if they won then though :o

Go Cards! I am soooo happy for them, those guys are pretty special to St. Louis! Congrats to both teams for making it to the World Series :D .
