It was a rain/snow mix but now it's entirely snow. How weird, everyone is getting an early winter!

Brrr .. so this is quite early snow for you then? When would you normally expect it? I imagine the doggies love the now once it is lying properly.

Send us a picture of what it looks like in the morning?

This is my first year in Denver, but from what I hear it's not uncommon to have snow in October. Sometimes, they get several feet! But, I think it melts pretty fast, since it's supposed to be up to 55 F by Thursday. I'll be sure to take another picture in the morning!

It is indeed not unusual for Denver to get some snow during October. During my 16 years here, I've even seen the stuff fall in September! And in 1997, we got two feet of snow in late October. (That's not even the biggest Denver snowstorm I've seen--we got 32 inches of snow over a couple of days in March 2003.)

But the snow melts quickly here in the city, especially when it falls either early or late in the season. It'll start piling up in the mountains, of course, much to the delight of folks who ski. :)

It looks gorgeous right now, but I'm sure in a few days it will just be muddy...

My sister in law lives in Denver. She emailed me to tell me it was wintery there. I'm so jealous we got a lot of rain, no snow. Send the white stuff my way would you? ;)
